Philippine team is good. They are good as individual players. They also have a good small players. But as a Fil-am here in the states, all we really want is for our home country to makes it in the Olympics. I hope the Philippine coach and officials will come to realize that to compete in the international level you do not just need good guards, you need tall good guard. They have to get on with the times. Nowadays, tall guards 6'4 min and as tall as 6'10 who can handle the ball and shoot from the outside. Please somebody there send this message. If this is not possible due our natural size as Filipinos - then maybe we are so passionate and spending so much time on a sports that is not meant for us Filipinos. Perhaps maybe we should be looking at some other team sport that do not require size and height. I am not saying we should stop playing sports we love - This is only for the sake of making noise in the international level.

I remember Gilas 1.0 was Build to avoid this kind of Reason why player wouldn't play for The National team. In The Era of Gilas 1.0 Rajko Toroman's Team, they had a great Star to only be broken in the last 2 Week's before Qualifying for Fiba Asia. All the hard works and sacrifices was gone in a blink of an eye and reason, Almost all members of that said team was Drafted in to the PBA. The Goal was to get players were they don't have problems getting hurt and they can go all out + they are making Money. What happened is players are now having obligations to their mother team in the PBA and will play safe 1st to get a nice contract from their team in the PBA and they came out soft playing safe and not all out.
