Great conversation. People need to know the how of things. Show the path walk the path.

Gotta say, I do have an emotional connection to my water heater. It's 52 years old and still going strong.

41:25 "what temperature do you think we'll hit by then" 👏 killer question. Saul sweeps a lot of issues under the carpet to stay focused on a positive future. Nothing can dent the go getter, can do, engineers optimism.

      41:35 ... 1.8C, 2.3C, 2.9C. every tenth of a degree matters right.

"A lot of the solar is being made with renewables" - how is that possible? Any sources for this?

You got global warming? Better call Saul.

Has Saul worked out the amount of minerals needed for this massive build out of wind and solar? And how does he get around the work of mining experts like Simon Michaux showing there are massive shortfalls across all minerals? In addition, how is the grid going to be balanced with wind and solar? Where's the baseload going to come from?

Saul Griffith makes a lot of claims that sound correct, and are encouraging. I would like to see his work and sources of evidence that support those claims.

The transition with existing solar, wind, and battery technologies could limit global warming to 1.8C, if implemented. Policies such as tariffs that keep solar and electric vehicle prices inflated are insane. The existing structure of power that favors special interests such as the fossil fuel industry and incumbent electric utilities is insane.
Are existing technologies sufficient to build a global digital democracy, and to flatten and decentralize the structure of power? I would like to hear more about this option.

The rest of the world ain’t on board bro and we’re completely reliant on China for them to process lithium

Shipping across oceans should go either nuclear like used in aircraft carriers or sailing

20:10 - no answer to the ecological overshoot question. Walkable cities and bikes, is not engaging with the question. Saul then jumped back to climate change.

l wish that it would be that easy that all people should put solar panels on their houses. What about us, when there is winter, and about half of year without proper sunlight...

Seems your stuck with wind in the winter. maybe hook the treadmill and stationary bike up to the grid as well,
maybe the local Grid battery could store enough to cover the first few months of winter
