I have a 1960's ford truck bed trailer I'm fixing up and mounting a camper too. My favorite part is the taillights with chrome bezels on the old trucks. My son is too young yet but I aspire to have a little helper like you.
Since the Little Man has become the Young Man, he could maybe run the camera some to let us see you working as you do him. Love your videos and glad the Young Man is with us!
Funny timing. I have been thinking of doing the same thing out of an 82C20 we just pulled the engine out of. Figured it be a good place to store our cab over camper. Easy to move around when not in use.
“Thinking, some people should try it!” Isn’t that the truth! My boss would probably be interested in the front suspension, don’t know if he’d be willing to drive there from northern Illinois though! Lol
Mighty hard for little man to not bust a gut laughing at his daddy and the daily smirks. I like the trailer but thought that you would do that light scuff and then clear it for "Patina" as it is just gorgeous and its only original once thing where you spend more time and money making it look old an bad at the same time. I can tell that the forty seven has your heart and also the weather is right for fixing on it right now. I bet that you put some miles on that one as it has nostalgia blowing in the wind
When you wire your light use the factory harness from the cab back to the lights...put a 4 wire pigtail on the cab forward and color code the wires and plug it in they work perfect
The trailer looks good, better than the other one(s?) I've seen, The one I remember clearly, was cruder, they bent, then welded the frame rails together and stuck the hitch right on the end of it. Now, THAT was Metal Hacking, not the pro job you did! Just add the safety chains and you're good. Oh my goodness, the Young Man broke into a smile at the end! (right back at ya man! 8-)
MrHevyshevy. I saw a Confederate Chevrolet Albemarle NC sticker on the back of that truck. That is now called Friendly Chevrolet. That is where the DAV car show I'd bring held on the 14 th. Would love for you to attend. Would like to meet you in person.
Dear Mr. Hevyshevy. 👍👌👏 Well done again. Nevertheless: I wonder why you put a jack on the new born trailer instead of a combination (jack with a wheel)? Way easier to maneuver when trailer is off the hook. Best regards luck and health to all of you. Postscriptum: Maaan, did you watch those ole but young at heart boys havin' fun with that mean/strong fantastic midengine Kerwood design hot rod?!
The young one is right. The possibilities if folks would just try it. Stop making stuff now i gotta get a hat. And if my wife deems it hers like my hack shirt. I'll have to order another one.... lol
The opposite is true, a really short tongue will allow it to fishtail.. I built one with a long tongue, and it trailed true at 70mph. Tried swerving a bit, could not get it to fishtail ! Also when backing up, it was easy to keep it straight, or make gradual turns! 👍
how do you know your fabrication will stand up to any weight you or some unsuspecting person puts in there? If someone were to take your video and try to do the same thing how will they know the trailer won't break loose and kill someone?
@@MrHevyshevy It doesn't look like it would break, you did a nice job. was just asking, welding hitch stuff makes me nervous but I am an amateur welder
Well I got my mr. Heavy Chevy fixed for the week thanks love watching your Channel
The young man is becoming quite the helper. Nice job on the tongue. I've seen quite a few bad truck bed trailer tongues. Yours turned out quite nice!

"Some people should try it."
I burst out laughing, that is gold!
The only dude in town with a trailer wit it's own tail pipe ,LOL !!!
Paint it blue to match the truck..👍👍
Now there's a real nice hack. Projects like this is why guys like us are always busy. Love it, keep them coming. Later
"Some people should try it". The young man is developing some wisdom.
My trailer is the FRONT axle of a 1940's Dodge pickup with a homebuilt frame and pine flooring 😁 Old trucks find ways to live on.
omg you are my long lost brother I love my trucks my son is 8 he drives man crazy
I too have trailers made from old trucks full of parts. Keep the faith!
👍 yes, more people should try it!... thinking! 🤓
Nice job converting it to a trailer take care and stay safe and stay blessed see you in the next one
I have learned that projects always take longer then you first think It is always nice when they are finished
Glad I found your channel look forward to seeing your videos thanks for sharing brightens my day
pearls of wisdom from the young man.

This is genius
Another job well done!
Look like a nice Rust free cab there's a lot of people like to have it
Cool trailer
That tongue setup looks real nice.
rpeek it works pretty good.
@@MrHevyshevy No doubt. Swell engineering there.
great build guys , ENJOYED !

Or run all new wiring
Nice trailer!! I have one myself. I use the heck out of it. And I would like to build another one.
Very cool!!!
I got a straight 6 i need the brakets off
of .motor mounts alternator power steering.distributor.im gonna put the motor in a Tbucket.
I love it tub trailer needs slammed it or same right high
That's damn cool I love it
I like how the trailer still has the exhaust on it lol
slowride55 be prepared. Learned that in the Boy Scouts.
That jack looks like it’s to far forward on the tongue (might hit it with your bumper on a tight turn). I’d move it further back on the tongue.
WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot Ranch it’s gonna be fine.
MrHevyshevy luckily it’s not my problem. 😂😂😂
Needs a bath and rattle can paint job courtesy of Mr Heavy Chevy jnr.
I have made several pickup trailers and that's how I wire them
knock knock......WHOS THERE! your engine........just lettin you know Im still running lol
I've always called them motor mounts
yeah and you can hook a trailer on the hitch of the trailer and have a road train
and......if you pull the trailers at night.......ozzy will show up
We put a jocky wheel on our trailers. Means we can move trailer round by hand.
I have a similar trailer. I want to get a camper shell on my truck and use them for camping.
The first of May in my part of Canada I'm not sure where you could have got a trailer jack besides mail .
I just bought one of these in January from a 76 Chevy. Cost me $100. Leaf springs both broke at the same time and I need another set, unfortunately.
A Chevy Confederate. Didn't know they still made them ... You know that's what '63 Waylin Wire's old truck is.

Should leave the cap on it and build it into home made camper

I got an old dump truck im fixn to make a dump trailer out of the bed .
Thru the years I have found you only have to do the blood sacrifice to the ones you need to run-LOL

Lot better than watching you crank stuff.
Nice quick trailer build, I could use one of them but then I don't have a hitch on my car so not sure what good it would do me Lol
Jerry's This and That That would be the next project.
If you don't have a power washer, might be a good idea to buy one and use it, just sayin.
maybe you can make a video that you drive with your selfmade trailer or that you clean the trailer...
😘😘😘🥰🥰
How does a trailer like this pull loaded/unloaded with the axles being centered? I have always been curious about that.
Saftey chains?
👍👍👍
hello and good day!!!!!!! farm cameron n-c-
how did you bend the frame in to make your triangle?
Took out a pie cut.

There’s project addiction happening right there...you keeping busy eh...
I tried to buy a cap and your site won’t accept my email address.
HARMARSCH2 I don’t know. It seems to work for most folks.
@@MrHevyshevy I’ll try again.
I think the tongue is to long, affraid it will fish tale.
I would think that the longer would help prevent fish tailing.

Dale Durbin I fear your fears are unfounded.
Build a bigger garage so you can go buy more stuff
