Duniyadari Episode 265.
In this episode, Saurabh Dwivedi narrates the story of the Syrian civil war, continuing for more than a decade. The war began after a schoolboy wrote a line against Bashar al-Assad on the wall of his school. The line was, ‘It’s your turn, Doctor!’ The boy was inspired by the Arab spring that was going in the neighbouring countries. This led to the arrests of 10 to 15 boys by the Daraa city’s security chief. Boys were badly tortured and kept in jail for more than 6 weeks. Police misbehaved with their parents too. This sparked the revolution in Syria.
People gathered on the streets for the regime change and demand a better life. But, that was never fulfilled. Syria became a battleground for many foreign interests. Islamic State also captured the opportunity to expand their territory. It was total chaos. It is still ongoing. Lacs of People is displaced, killed and injured. Cities are just ruins. Still, there is no end to the war.
What will happen next? Who will end the Syrian war? What is the plan of the Assad regime? Why Syria couldn’t get what it desired?
