Thanks for sharing. I argue that The Circle Jerks should be in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame someday! An amazing band that has influenced so many different genres of music!
my absolute fav version of this song i heard, i met Keith Morris in person after a show in West Catasauqua Pa and he is an all around cool guy and he really does care about his fans i saw that first hand, he didnt want anyone to get hurt
Saw them at the Country Club back in the nineties. Keith stopped the show in mid-song to quell a fight in the mosh pit, and threatened to quit the stage if there was anymore violence. Great show. Best thing was the CC had its liquor license suspended, so it was totally straightedge.
This cover is excellent and CJ's did a great job of walking the line b/w sophistication and vulgarity. The poor audio quality enhances the experience and the effect that sounds like somebody rubbing one off throughout is a nice touch
Lyrics to the original song Some folks are born made to wave the flag Ooh, they're red, white and blue And when the band plays "Hail to the chief" Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no Some folks are born silver spoon in hand Lord, don't they help themselves, oh But when the taxman comes to the door Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no Yeah! Some folks inherit star spangled eyes Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord And when you ask them, "How much should we give?" Ooh, they only answer more! more! more! Yo It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no military son, son It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, one It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no no no It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate son, no no no
Why is it shit? It's the lyrics that matter especially on this song. And Keith Morris the singer is a huge Creedence fan. Plus, he's a true American with American values who knows the meaning of the lyrics.
People quit saying sucks or does'nt suck its not supposed to sound like the original thats why it is called a cover it is there interpretation.
Agreed, it's just double timed compared to the original. I do prefer the original, but I love the Circle Jerks!
I freakin love this version
This might be the best cover song of all time. Yes, yes it is.

Wouldn't them being inducted go against the ideals of punk
Fuck the Rock Hall of Fame!!!

Keith Morris kicks ass in general.
to all the haters. it's way better than a pop star doing the song lol
If ccr had a sack the song would have sounded like the jerks version
This was on their album, VI.

♦️
they covered it on cj 6
pretty cool haha :)
whats it mean?
@mrlandroverdiscovery i guess it's all a matter of preference and opinion and u more then entitled 2 one
@mrlandroverdiscovery
This is punk
Did gg Allin sing for them for about a year or so?
haaa ha says who lol
Shit.. But then punk is.
I say the punk bands do a better job of covering this song. The ones by Wyclef, Pearl Jam and U2 suck. I do like the cat power version though.
Vietnam SUCKED. CMT......the gift that keeps giving! Thank you agent orange.

What is this?
No wonder it's 'RARE'
Once people heard it, they didn't want to hear it again.
destroyed a classic
@mrlandroverdiscovery This is a terrible cover and I only liked the first album by this band...so you are excused.
