As a kpop fan myself, other kpop stans need to stop saying this is kpop inspired. Look up American girl/boy pop/r&b groups from early 2000’s and 90’s and you will see this very choreography. Kpop was inspired by that, not the other way around. JYP said himself he was inspired by western music. American artist haven’t done this in a while, especially because groups aren’t as popular anymore. But this is actually very y2k/western music inspired. Pretty much is also a boy group that came out 3 years ago who also does choreo. If I see another comment saying this is the first American group with kpop choreography, I will scream.

Maybe its cause in the West we really haven't had that many all girl pop groups like in Korea, really only a handful and that was mostly in the 90s. Sure we've had Little Mix and Fifth Harmony in the last couple of decades, but in comparison to the abundance of all girl k-pop groups it's just not the same. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that there's a comparison, if anything it's a compliment to k-pop groups since it's something that the West is trying to strive for. I agree with you, both genres are great!
The amount of happiness I have rn is so far gone. I have such high hopes for this group and I know they’ll make it far. Finally being able to look up to an American artist that looks like me and integrates their culture into their music (videos) makes me so happy. And the fact that they added sign language makes me even more excited for the audiences they’ll reach!!!

I want these young ladies to succeed so badly, the music is poppy and fun but not annoying. They're still young I hope there's no drama and they are able remain together for a long time these girls deserve to climb as high as they like on our ladder of life. As much as I love kpop, y’all needa know these types of groups existed way before kpop got super popular. This group gives off more of a spice girls/destiny’s child vibe to me tbh but that’s just my opinion.
Their outfits do remind me of spice girls! However, the music production, discography, vocals, and visuals are much more modern/contemporary (as in up to the current trends) and similar to kpop than music from Spice Girls or other girl groups in the past. It's just a culture shift I guess.

I love how this group is so naturally diverse. They didn't say "here's an all-white pop group and an ethnic girl to keep the balance". It's so organic, you can just tell. I love how this group is so naturally diverse. They didn't say "here's an all-white pop group and an ethnic girl to keep the balance". It's so organic, you can just tell. I'm so used to seeing the non-white member being treated as an afterthought but here they all get their fair share of screen time and lines to showcase their talents and charms.
