Great video. nice to see some wood processing content. I agree that the guards are always a pain and should be removed, but one caveat to that is make sure you're wearing the correct PPE because sometimes a log will explode outwards into your legs and/or feet so I wear my rubber chainsaw boots and protective pants over them to prevent any injuries when using my splitter. I got the shudders when the lady was using it wearing just leggings. One of those logs could have taken her knee cap off, yikes. I've got a 6 ton splitter here in Canada and can get through a lot of wood with it in a day so they're cool pieces of equipment for sure.

I bought one of these from Rock machinery and had all the same issue that you had, wish I had seen your video before purchasing, I feel it definitely serves a purpose but it has its limitations, good video and review pal 👍

Bloody hell looks like they should be offering you a job as head of quality control/machine designer. Definitely get some commission for the updated model they'll put out after seeing this! Top chopping from the landlady too!

Put an extension on the Ram. Keep it close to the pile. Extend the welds . Try to keep the mesh guard.

Great review thank you. After researching all the log splitters I have after seeing your post ordered one of these for 1 reason and 1 reason only, I now know what i am buying and the potential faults to expect and how to overcome them. Thank you

@@EvansBoatwork do u reckon it will last 5 to 10 years with general repairs and maintaining by a competent person at times or do you think few years and dead

You have defeated all the “Safety” features by working two-handed.
The guy who owns Super Split always says that any hand related accident he has heard of was the result of working two-handed, as in two people. People lose coordination and a hand gets trapped.
Super Split is a universally lauded American kinetic splitter. If you look at one in operation, there is no second handle to occupy both hands and logs are manoeuvred on the table by being held midway along their length.
Logs can be projected off at an angle, and standing near the motor is recommended to avoid leg injury.
No idea where this is made, but it looks like a piece of Chinese tat!
