I've been blessed to see this band over 30 times in three different countries. If there is one thing that rings true at every show, it's the fans. It's like a damn family reunion and being with all of them singing their asses off, raising horns and fists, is an experience I feel no other band has ever delivered me.
I cannot believe that I'm part of one of the unforgetable moments of my favourite band! I was at Rock in Rio's Fear of the Dark!!!! One day I'll tell this to my futures grandsons!!!
Best metal band PERIOD... Everyone else has faded away or they are pushing on without the skill they once had, Maiden is still on point in every way and their latest album destroy's anything from any of the (very few) other other bands still around from the 80's
The recent Maiden albums pale in comparison to their old stuff. Plenty of 80s metal bands still release albums better than every post 1992 Iron Maiden record.
Yeah. I couldn't have said it better myself! Iron Maiden destroys the other bands, who are still around. Priest isn't even that good anymore after they lost the 2 best things about that band (K.K. Downing retiring and Glenn Tipton not playing live concerts anymore).

Iron Maiden live at Stockholm Olympic Stadium june 2003, the audience (me included, first time at a Maiden concert and standing about three feet from the front barrier) chant so loudly and strongly just when it's time for Bruce's speech inbetween Brave New World and The Clansman that he simply gives up, sits down on a stage monitor and just smiles and takes in the scene. The chanting and cheering went on for several minutes until they just gave up and started up "The Clansman" I will never forget that night!
Unforgettable and priceless moment for me : Steve Harris walking over to me and watch me play Ides of March on a bass while in Guitar center!!! Yeah I messed it up when I seen him lol

I’m more than flattered that you have added the Powerslave moment. The Maiden fans in Costa Rica waited for it like forever and although I could not been there, I made it in the Second Leg in the AMS Stadium (home of my soccer team) and for the Book of Soul Tour. Thank You, because this was some thing that I could share with my younger brother who past away last March and he was a die-hard Iron Maiden fan.
I hardly doubt they are bigger than ´tallica, still both bands fill arenas with ease, is not like Maiden can get a bigger crowd or Metallica a bigger one, but depend of the place they play, something is for sure, both bands fill the place.
When I was 11 the local record store had their entire front window painted like the Killers album cover, my dad was a big fan of TNWOBHM so he bought it but I listened to it more than he did. Number Of The Beast was the first Maiden album I bought in '83. It made me want to learn to play guitar but I royally sucked at it. Had a beautiful 1974 cherry burst Les Paul and still regret not learning to play.

Seriously though their stint at the Dortmund metal festival in 1983 is my favourite Maiden performance, a tour de force of youthful energy, wish I could play it again but all I have is an old knackered VHS tape.
In 1984 after a concert in Poland, they all wanted to go for a drink. Back then you could not get alcohol at that time of night and they were told to go to a local place that hosts weddings. They got there but were denied entry at first, then after a chat they not only ended up getting in but also played at those people's wedding. Footage from that wedding is still available on yt :)

Janick is such a funny guy. He realy adds something to the stage presence. And he doesn't take the place of anyone else, because Dave and Adrian are out there too! I dont understand the hate given to him. There's not a single negative point of him being in the band, just positive ones!

Shoot....I saw Maiden in Philadelphia on the Seventh Son tour when they broke the record The Who held for loudest concert and I had 11 HUNDRED moments on that alone. The mic cut out on the CRESCENDO of Hallowed be thy Name and Bruce grabbed Adrian Smith's Mic and finished the bellowing refrain..... DAMNIT!!!! That was my favorite song.....but it was awesome.

I'd say both Black Sabbath and Judas priest's 2010s releases have been extremely good, also Metallica's latest record was pretty good
