@@ImmortalDreamEntertainment Absolutely. I adore The Witcher games, and the way CDPR handled updates and extra content for 3 was exemplary. It's a shame Cyberpunk turned out like this
@Vegeta Saiyajin reference to slang for corporations in Cyberpunk that regularly feud and engage in espionage and proxy wars against each other. So ironic to see it happen to the company that created the game.
I don't see CD Project Red staying independent after all this. They're definitely going to be swallowed up by a bigger company. I just hope it's no EA. Rumors were that Microsoft talked about acquiring them in January.
No one is gettin sued. This is news from few days ago and that post was made in polish language by some dude who's not even connected to CDPR in any form. Almost 500k players on steam in peak hour after 11 days in single player game. Yea they are done. Except horrible performance on base consoles the game is great. Game sold well and will be selling well after patches and DLCs.
@@Chytruske Nah. Performance on PC is bad. RTX 3070s can't run the game at above 60FPS on 1440P in dense areas. Nice try though. This game is a dumpster fire.
Wait till Sony file a lawsuit for the millions lost in refunds. I'm sort of glad it's happening. Maybe it'll send a hard message to other companies that the gaming community will not tolerate overhyped, aggressive marketing strategies coupled with the delivery of a sub-standard product. If you do, the internet will destroy you, nobody will buy your game, your metacritic score will be bad and your company will lose out. The upper management thought they were smart and could get away with deceiving consumers and investors alike.
What it's actually gonna do is have companies look at how EA and activision interact/treat their customers and say "they're doing it the right way, let's follow them". The lesson that CDPR will learn from this is don't bow to pressure from gamers, do whatever the shareholders tell you to do.
@@KuraMad2000 Pretty sure the shareholders are the ones pushing CDPR to release the game, but that's just me. As if gamers actually had a voice in publically traded companies, lmao.
@@KonsaiAsTai yes but there is a difference. Cdpr had shown that they try to take customer demand into consideration, whereas a company like ea has shown historically that they don't give a crap what the customer thinks. This in turn gives the stock holders an idea of how to react. With ea, any criticism doesn't affect their stock too much because stock holders know ea will do what's best for the stock. With Cdpr on the other hand, any little criticism by the customer causes their stock to just dive because the stockholders know cdpr seem to cater more to the customer than the stock holders. The worst mistake cdpr ever did was go publicly traded. This it why I wouldn't be surprised if after this fiasco, cdpr is going to turn into another ea, if not get bought out by a company like ea or Activision. And we'd deserve it to happen.
@@KonsaiAsTai You can read a transcript where investors ask them about the game and if its ready for release or not. And they told them its gonna be fine.
Never Pre-Order a game. Who got refunds? Kids you all are lucky, normally this does not happen. BE THANKFUL you can get refunds. In the future, DO NOT BELIEVE IN HYPE. DO NOT PRE-ORDER. Wait a day or two and look at reviews, look at a few TWITCH streams and see if the game is good for your value... UNLESS YOUR RICH AND DONT CARE ABOUT MONEY! 10 years from now you wont care or remember if you got a game on day 1. Is some in game item worth $50, $60, $70 or $80 (new console game cost) ?
Wasn't the greed from the higher ups and investors the main cause of this whole mess. Seems like no one wants to admit fault and just play the blame carousel ride.
@@geoffok why? This saddens me. The game is good. The story is good. The visuals - amazing. The quests? Next level. On pc, bugs are minimal. I feel for the hard working, passionate devs at cdpr... They did their best, and are still doing the best they can to make this right, but they are still feeling the wrath of the internet. The whole world is against them.
@@Irrelavant__ What makes you think it was the managers who tried to push cyberpunk 2077 to be released? From what I can tell it wasn't the low-mid level managers but the executives trying to get this out.

Absolutely.. :'( I'm on base ps4 and since 1.05 patch have been playing best I can. Have loved the game so far but going to put it down and wait for the ps5 release. You can tell alot of passion and work has gone into the game but it clearly isn't ready yet.
@@CrystalMang0 The devs are at fault but it was clearly the upper management who wanted to push the game out way earlier than it was ready for just to meet consumer demand after how much the game had been publicized for its amount of delays The devs also weren't responsible for stuff like marketing, the shady shit like hiding the console versions out of the public eye and the review code fiasco etc.
I think it has to do with how by the time Bethesda released 76 trust for them was already quite bad and many expected the game itself to be a buggy mess (not to that extent, but you see what I mean) Whereas in this case, CDProjekt had marketed themselves as the most consumer friendly, as taking all the time they needed for the game to be finished and the hype behind the game was s lot more, so with all that in the formula, the backlash was equivalent to it
Were you even there for the FO76 Disaster of 2018-2019?? Lawsuits, controversy after controversy, refunds, trashy customer support, false advertising, just to name a few, fallout got just the same amount of heat if not more
Just like when gordon makes the chefs go and eat their burnt, shitty food that they tried to send out... the CDPR execs should have to do a full 60 hour playthrough of the base console versions with it crashing every 5 minutes.
@@leejenkins7184 They really needed this game to do very well considering it may have been their only saving grace considering the amount of money they poured into it..

@@yacine9809 This may similar to the “Killer Wasp” situation earlier this year where I can’t find anything about this outside of New York Times specifically, meaning this is either over-hyped and not going to affect the majority of us or simply not true and makes NYT look bad. You know we’re also making great progress on the vaccine, right, and this may not even matter? Worry more about the people flaunting basic hygiene AGAIN just so they can travel for Christmas and the inevitable and completely-expected surge in cases/deaths that this is going to cause. That is in no way out of our control, the numbers would be a lot less depressing if people just listened to doctors and patiently stayed home until they take the vaccine and immunity kicks in about 2 weeks later.
TH-camrs are worse than the journalists they make fun of. For one, they are not professionals: like it or not a journalist is a professional that went through training and has studied for the job. Secondarily they have more reason (they get paid) to shill for gaming companies.
@@justsam100 Journalism courses are a joke. Pretty much as he's spent the last two weeks doing nothing but reporting on CDPR's trouble with stupid shareholders and the anti-hype train. *insert you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain quote, only appropriate this time* At this point, all this muckraking is comparable to Kotaku.
@@squallofthedai Honestly if there's dirt to be found it should be talked about. Fallout 76 was a blunder after a blunder too, for like 5 months. Hopefuly CDPR execs wake the fuck up.
I remember back 2-3 years ago when CDPR was self-righteously grandstanding above other game companies about how "pro-consumer" and "different" they are.
Well, they at least still are DRM-free. But after the deceptive marketing and stopping reviewers from showing past gen console footage before launch... yea, a lot of that consumer goodwill has gone right out the window.
i have no idea why everyone doesnt toss skepticism towards every single big ass corporation, including ones who have worked up decent reputations. Keeping up a surface level front and consistently trying to make best products possible can be both mutually exclusive and intertwined. Publix is a good example of a nice front, for both customers and workers, but definitely is leeched by a self serving corporate entity who simply doesnt not only not give as much as they could, but takes active steps in the opposite direction over long periods of time. Its completely insidious and Disney level evil.
But back then they were. The value for money that Witcher 3 GOTY has in it cannot be overstated, especially when so often it goes on deep sale. I'd say they simply miscalculated and overshot with CP2077, by a serious margin. Then backed into a corner they thought it would be ok to just release it "as is" in the hopes of fixing it in the following months.
I mean we only ever saw what they wanted.... They announced it super early And still its bugged.. The idea and the aspect and city is amazing But it's hard to say it ever had anything going but a false narrative.
Yeah I just finished the game on my ps4pro yesterday. It was an amazing experience. It's depressing that all the art of it has been overshadowed it's so hard to find a decent video about the actual game. Don't get me wrong I had a few visual bugs, and one bug that actually stopped me from progressing a quest (I had to find a work around) and a crash every few hours but to be honest I have to wonder how bad it is on base consoles because there are games from worse developers that aren't even good games. Like that new COD is getting hardly any news. It's really sad and depressing. Some people love to wallow in hate, I'm not saying don't report the news it's just give the whole industry the same energy not just one company.
@@Kitkatkis You’re missing the point of the outrage. The outrage is from the incompetence, the unprofessionalism, the constant misleading, and the blatant lying on the part CDPR. Lawsuits aren’t being filed because it’s a “bad game.” It’s because of how CDPR has handled the entire situation, which has been absolutely atrocious.
It's pretty interesting to me that CD Project Red is in the spotlight negatively to the point of a lawsuit... EA, Ubisoft, Bioware... Etc. Have been doing this for years. The spotlight should encompass the entire gaming landscape not just CDPR. The change should be all of gaming. CDPR fucked up but they are far from the worst and everything needs to change.
I think this is the first toppled domino, after which investors and therefore dev management will be reluctant to keep chucking out half finished garbage as it's opened the gates of getting rid of the top needless echelon that do nothing and think they should be payed in 6 figures
I have argued with a few people about this on here and its sad because they all say that no one cared about the other guys but we cared about cyberpunk 2077 thats sad, if they put the same attitude towards the other companies those other games would be a lot better, but again no one cares
The difference is people like (well, liked) CDPR; they don't just feel disappointed, they feel betrayed. One could argue people liked Bioware, but a) their downfall was expected after ME3 and Andromeda, and b) there's not much surprise coming from an EA studio doing something bad. Not saying that made the Anthem crunch right, but there you go.

Exactly. The same people giving CDPR a pass rip apart EA and Ubisoft for releasing a buggy game. The CDPR fanboys are so pathetic. They can't handle the fact this company scammed a lot of people. Watching CDPR get rightfully dragged has been cathartic. People need to stop worshipping these companies
I'll be honest, as a Cyberpunk player since its beginning in 1988, i love the story and some side stories are very great, but the game is hollow and broken and, if you know the P&P game, rushed. Netrunners are not playable but you can find netrunning equipment everywhere, you can use it as clothes... So it was scraped, as the cop career since they mentionned how the character would be able to be part of the psychosquad, which isn't a possibility. In fact, only the nomad path is good, corpo path is rushed and stupid (from the beginning to the end) and i don't even tried street kid. They choose to go with Solo and Nomad, the two most boring classes of the cyberpunk universe... The media class is limited to two npcs in the whole game, wich is a shame because so much things are possible with them ! To be honest, the city is empty, lifeless and boring and the archetypes are sooo bad, limited and short sighted. All corpos are evil, which is kinda true but if you don't want them, look at Pacifica, it's what happen. They could have showed them as a "necessary evil". Cops are useless, lazy, weak, corrupts and cowards. They don't even talk about the corpo polices, the psychosquad, etc. Cop career is sidelined and reduced to nothing, even if really good stuff could have been made... All rockerboys live in the past and were brought by corpos and no new generation appeared. Only old, drugged, drunked and useless npcs living is luxury houses.... Also, you can buy the rockerboy equipment but can't use it ! I can continue for hours. I'm a fan of cyberpunk, i didn't had high expectetions but everything around the game feel rushed and wasted. There is even a main characteristic of the player that appear but you can use it... It just show how the player would be able to choose its career. To shorten everything: WTF !!!! Just my opinion of course.
@@malcomyoung2240 You made a great post hitting on some facts and truths. CDPR had eight years to develop this game and it still feels rushed and empty. What the hell have they been doing for close to a decade?! GTA 5 is almost ten years old and runs circles around this game when it comes to certain things. It also runs pretty well on old hardware. Cyberpunk was hyped up to the moon and fell flat on its face. It's really inexcusable no matter how much the fanboys try to spin it

This is going to be a huge hit to cdpr. Many shareholders are extremely pissed. Imagine buying shares worth thousands of dollars last year. You may have lost 30% or more because they released a half-baked game. We as gamers maybe got screwed, but companies don't care about us anyway. Shareholders however are legally in a different position. All the problems we have about the game, are arguments in their cases against Cdpr. Cdpr has exploited our goodwill and fed us manipulated informations for years. They proved before that they care about their customers and that the product gets polished, even after release. This time however, they promised they will release it "when its ready". Its clearly not ready. This game needs at least a year of development to be E3 Demo ready. You can't polish what is missing. It may be bug free, but no clear-headed person cares about the bugs if 50% of the promised content is missing. I can't continue the game because it makes me angry to see so much wasted time and potential just for a few quick bucks. I want to play the version they promised us. I can wait. But I demanded a refund for my pc retail version because I won't pay full price for a lowkey early access game. I rather play other games for now.

It is Cyberpunk's plot. CDPR's the only good guy left in the gaming industry, the fixer, trying to bring back good in gaming developments, fighting the entropy Enter the corpos, the entropy. Investors, Sony, Xbox, pressing irressistible deals, console launch priority, deadlines, and such Fixer did its best to complete the impossible, but had to compromise along the way Corpos not pleased, Fixer tries to fight back by giving corpos bad name. I feel like we're getting great value for our money, a complex plot in both game, and real-world context! I mean I know they said they were pushing things to another level. And it has been entertaining to watch.
Such a shame man, every day it just seems to go even more downhill for them, years of goodwill and community building, down the fuckin drain in a matter of a week since release

That reminds me of what happened with the Justice League movie. Warner Bros wanted to rush the movie out into theatres before the end of the fiscal year so the execs could get their bonuses - even though the film was no where near ready for release to the public.

Yeah, and imagine if you are now working there to fix up the game.. what passion do they have left? Everybody is laughing at you, hating you. And your bosses don't have your back. The most talented ones probably want to jump ship.
They are paying full retail price for a product that doesn't exist yet, that people haven't examined to give you reviews and information on the quality of the product. Pre-ordering is only done by complete morons who have been taken in by hype.
I agree 100% with you. I've played this game for over 60 hours already and it has been a spectacular experience, with a few annoying bugs but nothing game-breaking. I definitely want to see those bugs fixed (it's super annoying to see the hottie I created go bald in the mirror despite her beautiful long hair) and sometimes one of my guns decides not firing after pulling the trigger lol (addressed by going to the menu and switching that particular weapon). Yong also posted a video yesterday (I think) warning about save file corruption if your inventory gets too large from crafting (prevented by selling your excess items to Drop boxes instead of vendors; no fix yet). CDPR already released a hotfix yesterday, so I expect continued improvement to all these annoyances. Having said that, what happened with the console release is totally unacceptable, but you know what? It's possible that Adam Badowski tried to warn the rest of the board of directors against releasing the game at its current state, and either got pushback from other members (particularly those in financial/sales/publishing roles), and they said no, finish the damn game already (buckling to pressure from investors). This is all a theory and I could be way off the mark, but to me, this is what it looks like when leaders/employees/troops that have direct visibility over a project try to warn their colleagues and superior of something, the others don't listen, and bad shit happens.
@@TheToNtTuToNy On PC, any game breaking bugs have been so incredibly rare they're not ruining much enjoyment. That isn't to say they don't need to be patched, because they absolutely do! Current/"next" gen isn't even having as bad a time either. It really us just PS4/Xbone. Which again, isn't an excuse. The state of those versions is abhorrent and unacceptable. But you're replying to someone talking about PC. So no, the game isn't broken here.

It seriously amazes me that these investors put in so much money and don't even request to play the game before release to check if the game is actually ready for release
I was so excited when this game was announced with the tag line “Coning out when it’s ready.” I thought it would be the start of AAA game developers taking a stance against stringent release windows given by publishers & executives to insure a perfectly polished games for the sake of the gamers. Hurts even more knowing it’s a company like CD Projekt Red.
Joe King definitely agree, but I can’t help but remember the optimism I had thinking that maybe this time around, they had the players best interest at heart
The concept of time was made by us. There ain't shit that's gonna change after New Years, lol. I guarantee that it's only gonna get worse from here, as impossible as it seems.
The thing is, other companies have a buttload of games comming out. For example: Watch dogs legion was a broken mess, much like cyberpunk, but they had assassins creed valhalla coming out a month later, so shareholders still thought they could make a profit. CDPR on the other hand, has one game every 5 years. If they release a broken mess, shareholders have no idea of when they'll make their money back, so they jump ship.
it really feels odd because cyberpunk can be fixed and is still selling, but other examples had games which were an unmitigated unfixable disaster with none of these reactions.
Man I feel terrible for the devs right now They probably tried their absolute hardest to meet expectations after god knows how many delays but the execs were basically pissing all over their work
If you watch old Yong yea videos from 2017 he mentions that management issues have been present in the company all the way back in 2011 during Witcher 2 development, but they only ever came to public knowledge in 2017 during Witcher 3 development, when Glassdoor reviews were posted about the company of such a negative work environment and even worse, hostile and sometimes abusive management where crunch time is not just occasional it's expected
Lol, you don’t think it possible that the devs might’ve not been working as hard as possible? Realize that a work from home setting decreases productivity. Take a moment and understand I’m not blaming the devs solely or primarily for the state of the game but act as if they are free of fault is ridiculous... they are the ones that made the game after all, with the steering of management etc.

Wait till Sony file a lawsuit for the millions lost in refunds. I'm sort of glad it's happening.
If only. The truth is that they will try to find new ways to put out cheaper games so that the financial risks will be minimized.
And we'd deserve it to happen.

i have no idea why everyone doesnt toss skepticism towards every single big ass corporation, including ones who have worked up decent reputations. Keeping up a surface level front and consistently trying to make best products possible can be both mutually exclusive and intertwined. He hyped this game for a long time and he's one of the reason on why i bought this game, really dissapointed on him.
