You think most people don’t release sport fish? Besides that, stripers are good eatin and non-native species. They’re an east coast saltwater/freshwater (similar to salmon in that respect) species released on the west coast and in reservoirs over a hundred years ago. Nothing wrong with keeping fish you’re going to eat.
@@smelltheglove2038 I think Rob is thanking him for releasing that, trophy fish, so someone else can hopefully enjoy catching it, down the road, as am I. Plus, a striper that size is most likely a female and beyond that is most likely 8-10 years old, if not older and probably has some good genes so it’s best for all anglers to let her go to make little fishies for us to enjoy! 👍🏼
Ahah I fish for bass at the duct all the time. Whenever I come across a boil of stripers, it is so much fun chasing after them with rip baits. That blow up was badass. The duct can be so unpredictable at times, yet so mysterious. U never know what u can catch that day. Good stuff bro 👍
Good mid size stripbass but 46" and 52" inches is even bigger and stronger at North of Sacramento area.. Biggest stripbass experienced is forever implanted in your memory.
When the fish run u don’t need to keep turning the handle, also no need to adjust the drag that much. Just keep it at a decent tightness and you’ll be fine.
Hay I really enjoy your TH-cam videos. Would you be open to paid advertisements? Product placement in a video? You wearing one of our hoodies or shirts?
I usually park outside the gates and/or any off road area that's available. I usually use google maps to try and find a spot to park first before heading out as I almost got a ticket a few years back driving on the duct itself but the CHP officer was cool about it and just informed me
I guess that counts as a catch...i hooked a 14 lb carp an accident through the tail once....does that count too?
Dope, respect for letting it see another day. 💯
South always producing big striper... That's twissleman.
Great job of adjusting the drag and better than that releasing the fish , most people won't , I take my hat off for you Sir and respect .

Don't most fish die from catch and release within a few weeks and can't breed after? Why not eat what you caught?

How many inch and lbs ?
34in. Didn't weigh it because it was out of the water a little longer than I'd like so I just took a quick measurement only
