Outstanding!!! I'm impressed how you have clarified the a somewhat "confusing" subject with a clear, concise, examples. And your spoken volume and enunciated were great (something so many other people totally fail at). After your video, I asked myself how did I ever consider this subject to be difficult and confusing... the answer is rooted in Microsoft's HELP. I read it a few times and each time I came away MORE confused... Thanks VERY much. You are a real Pro.
I watched several different videos and read several different instructions and I finally understand this simple task of "locking" cells because of this video! Thank you!!!!!
Awesome!!! Everyone explains how to "lock cells" and protect worksheet, but when I follow their instructions, either I can't type anywhere on the document, or I can still type over all my formulas. Your explanation was absolutely the best and took only a few seconds to do.... Pitty I wasted almost half an hour watching other's videos to no avail!! You're the best!! Thanks :)
Ralph! Thank you for your explanation of LOCKED and UNLOCKED - I've been trying to stop users changing certain cells but allow them to input to others for some time but couldn't get it right. Now I've got it sussed! Thanks!
Thank you for being a sensible person... All of these other tutorials literally have you locking the entire spreadsheet which makes no sense for the purpose of excel.
Not only did you save me hours of hassle but I got a free coffee as I am now king of spreadsheets! (I'll have to let them down gently - but first coffee!)
Hi! I want to create a weekly inventory sheet for my coffee shop with a starting data already using an iPad just save paper and time. Its like all they have to do is just mark the day where a particular stock has been used so that at the end of the week we already know how many products has been actually utilized. My concern is how can we make sure all the data that has been previously input can't be modified?
Hello Ralph. Thanks for the video! Could you please show what the code would look like if I wanted to leave more than one sheet visible? Let's say I want to veryhide 8 sheets and leave 5 visible. Thanks a lot!
Awesome, I need a help from you, i.e. I need to know that if i have 29 rows and 30 columns at 1 sheet for the month of january to december and then a similar sheet (sheet number 13) if i make to cumulate the all 12 months at 13th sheet???? Then what is the process?????
I wrote a SelectionChange macro in the worksheet. After protecting the worksheet, I got an 'Application-defined or object-defined error' every time I select a different cell in the worksheet. Seems like to protect worksheet function doesn't work well with worksheet event procedures.
Hi!, Thanks for this video, just one questions how do you hide your formulas when they are lock? for example: you don't want others to change your cells formulas but you else don't want them to see the formula... how can you do that?! Many thanks!!
hi, thanks for your nice video. But my question is how to luck a sheet with password so for example 3 different users are allowed to access only one page each with their passwords. considering that we already have made cell protections in a way that other users can only access specified cells as you mentioned?
hi Ralph, if I have multiple worksheets in my excel and I don't want anyone to be able to delete them, do you know what I should do? Thanks for your help mate
Thanks so much, I have another question, what if in my spreadsheet they want to add a row or a column because there's more data required but the sheet is protected, what can I do?
