If you're wondering what's going on here, I've copied and pasted a few theories from the discussion forum below (SPOILERS) . . . Posted by Voct: Could it possibly be that O5-9 was killed by another O5, who subsequently set all this up to make sure nobody investigated the murder ? Posted by Christopoulos: O5-8 probably did it, as the "this document must be destroyed" was in O5-1's fragment of the description, but O5-8 was the one to delete it. O5-8 may have been trying to cover their tracks by fabricating TRAILHEAD so as to not give anyone enough conclusive information to point the murder back to him, then deleting it all as a supposed end of the world-preventing measure. Posted by Abettik: "The fellow O5 murdered a colleague" ties up a lot of things except for all of the wonkiness that happened that day (The sight of a daylight comment, the undecipherable language bit, etc.) and I just think it's too clean and too mundane to say all of the evidence was fabricated by a rival O5, or even that an O5 used anomalous means to create the wonkiness as red herrings. My headcanon is that TRAILHEAD did work, but not in the intended way. The specific language is that "O5-9 would only die as the result of a naturally-occurring, age-related illness." We're also told that it "ensured that O5-9 would meet a specific demise involving a gunshot(s) to the head." I think both are simultaneously true statements. Maybe it was a mistake, and O5-9 didn't realize the second effect. Maybe he did, and he was attempting quantum immortality by ensuring two utterly incompatible future deaths. Either way, he was so sure that his little plan worked, he let his guard down. He had fewer security guards, fewer countermeasures, and no other anomalous protections. A would be-assassin actually made it into his dining room. But just as the assassin is about to pull the trigger, the universe goes wonky. Time speeds up. Local broadcast stations start playing messages from dozens of years in the future, in a yet-to-be-created language. Halley's Comet, not scheduled to arrive for another 75 years, appears in the sky. Individuals vanish and others skip ahead weeks or months into the future. O5-9 is aged a lifetime in a few moments just as his assassin pulls the trigger. O5-9 dies of natural coronary failure, just as the bullets strike him. Both deaths happen simultaneously.
Yeah I love when you do these individual ones and they're sure and they're not like 2 hours long it doesn't really make any sense to do a bunch of them all together and I say no more than 30 minutes and do like maybe for at a time

As an Austrian, the only unrealistic thing in this SCP is that our police and politicians would ever do their work.
I haven’t heard of a single place on Earth where people like their police and trust their politicians lmao.
