@@ChrisRash Seconded. Nice specs on this, but to be honest of the 5 G300 finishes on their site, this is the least appealing for me. Edit: Thinking about it some more, I think I used to prefer the old Cort G design from nearly 20 years ago.
Phil McKnight has said MANY times that there’s nothing wrong with using dime sized pots. You could have larger pots that are plenty crappy too. It’s not the size that matters- it’s the quality. Now I would definitely prefer larger CTS pots . . . but plenty of high end guitars use dimes and there’s really nothing wrong with that if they’re built to last.

I recently bought a Burgundy G300 Pro. I absolutely love it! It plays and performs better than the Ibanez AZ (which I wanted to buy). The trem is awesome and WILL NOT go out of tune. Now they have a chambered version, which is like a budget Guthrie sig. Don’t sleep on this!
@@fotowue The only differences are the finish. The wood is different between the G300 pro / raw / glam etc but that won't make any difference to the way it sounds.
There are a couple of inaccuracies in this review. The Cort G300 Pro also has a quarter inch maple top, it's not a veneer. The G300 Pro also has the exact same Duncan pickups, the JB and the Jazz. The main differences between the glam and the pro is the material. The Pro has a solid basswood body with maple neck and fretboard, the Glam has a chambered mahogany body with a mahogany neck and ebony fretboard. These are the differences between these models
I love Cort...I bought my first one back in 1995 and LOTS of them ( different models ) ever since... I'm originally from France and Cort is a real household name there, probably because of their low prices and the fact quality has always been excellent, and they're not just straight copies of such and such... Interestingly they're not as big in the US but Cort also works for other companies so it works for them... This is a beautiful model and I might be interested 🙂🙂🙂 Thanks for the excellent video, as ever...
I play cort for so many years. Currently i play Cort CR300. The Les Paul of Cort. With maple top, mahogany body, and EMG Retro FAT55 pickups. The best LP Style guitar for sure. And i think, it way better than most epiphone on the price range. $400 for a Maple top and active EMG pickup is a wonderful bargain!
I mean Cort (Cor-Tek) does build guitars for almost everyone these days (they are the worlds biggest guitar manufacturer after all), so they’ve got the skills to make their own guitars as excellent as possible at a competitive price.
I remember when I could get a Cort guitar for less than $400, sometimes under $300 if I walked into a store with cash. Glad to see they're still around, and that they've raised the specs on their products.
Cort have always made the best value guitars and basses. My main player is an old 90s cort artisan 5 string that would easily give a warwick corvette a run for its money, the wood is top tier, wenge neck and ash body. It's electronics and tuners where corners were cut, but with a full emg set-up and hipshot tuners, it easily keeps up with basses costing 5 times as much. I can only imagine the guitars are just as good in this regard, and the spec today would be way better then in 1991.
I bought a Cort X Series as a present for my nephew, it's an entry level guitar. Being honest it surprised to me, very solid construction, stable tuning, comfortable neck profile. I jus had to polish the frets a little bit and adjust the strings height. It's amazing for an entry level... Cort is doing a great job.
Nothing to do with Eart. Cort has been offering high end specs at a great price for a long time. And to be fair, the Eart QC is awful. I bought an explorer and it's great looking but the frets aren't level at all.
@@FenderMarko47 I've had a Chapman that cost 300 aud more than the Harley Benton t style I had and honestly, there was no difference except the Benton had better frets. Cheap guitars are cheap guitars. They are getting better tho.

Two drawbacks: coil splits in positions 2 and 4 are NOT hum-cancelling and I wish the frets were jumbo. 95% perfect, though! I'd buy it again.

if you were to play Johnny and Santos version of Sleepwalk which guitar in Your Arsenal which one would you select to do slide on? It was one my wife's favorite songs and I would like to learn to play it in her memory.
Any chance to review Epiphone Les Paul Classic - T with Min-Etune where the guitar can tune all 6 strings automatically by itself. Amazing. Cheers from Indonesia.
Are there any notable differences compared to the burgundy one you previously tested? Spec wise there's not many upgrades, other than the maple cap and chambered body (the pickups are the same, actually).
The g300 is a workhorse standard that is hard to beat… I’ve enjoyed the privilege for the last 8 months… give this axe 40 years and more tone flow than squire /fender /Gibson . Then PRS and cort will be there above museum pieces..
I’ve heard some comments about the QC of Cort guitars. I realize that pretty much every guitar that comes out of Indonesia is built by Cort, but I’ve been told that it really comes down to QC checks and what flaws are allowed vs rejected that contributes greatly to end cost of the instrument. It is my understanding from talking to a local tech that the Cort branded guitars tend to allow more construction flaws than a brand like Ibanez, for example, which has a stricter QC standard. Any thoughts on that? Is there any truth to that? That said, I’m going to find it difficult to resist the G300 Raw…
hello Darrell, Why x700 Duality ii much more expensive than this model? The reason is only design? because spec wise they are almost same or even thıs ıs better
Cort has made a lot of guitars but I think they just never had big names to endorse the products. I personally hate that the volume knob has been so close to the bridge pickup on strats...so I avoid them but like their sound/tone.
Regarding "prestige", Cort logo design does not help very much. It seems a kid made it in Coreldraw using a low quality free font. They should definitely redesign it.
@@andrewbecker3700 You do realize that this type of neck joint is being used for 40 years? And that there are ferrules there, screw isn't just pushed into the wood. Nothing wrong with this design and certainly a million times better than a ginormous block of wood with steel plate added on top of it, like Fender does to this day. Now that is a piss poor design!
I'm sure that there are problems in many Asian factories, regarding employee safety, maintaining healthy, respectful working environments, but Cor-Tek Corporation's (Cort) reputation is so, so, bad (even in Asia) that I would _never_ even consider purchasing one of their products. I also try as best I can to find out if an instrument, from other brands, were manufactured at Cor-Tek, and avoid those were possible too.

You should review Hagström Phantomen. Its an interesting guitar. Very afforadble me thinks. And got to be honest there must be something about since Ghost have been using them for years. The sunburst colour looks like a sweetest dream. Check it out and lets us mere mortals know what you think.
These are pretty much off branded Ibanez AZ Premiums since they are actually the ones who build them for Ibanez.
if you were to play Johnny and Santos version of Sleepwalk which guitar in Your Arsenal which one would you select to do slide on? It was one my wife's favorite songs and I would like to learn to play it in her memory.
Lol spected out to the moon while the moon is really spected out right now lol
I love it !
The g300 is a workhorse standard that is hard to beat…
I’ve enjoyed the privilege for the last 8 months… give this axe 40 years and more tone flow than squire /fender /Gibson .
Very nice.
Darrell, please tell me what it's called, when their is rod adjustment near the neck pickup.
Dear Sir, there is some fan's of your 1 min guitar solo. So please don't forget to play it from next video. ❤️
How does that stack up against something like the schecter nick johnston or sire s7? Possible cort makes those as well tho!
can you explain more the issue with the pots? were they at least 500k pots?
Nice 🔥
i have been always telling you..check Cort good guitars and basses, they are great and affordable
Are there any noise by using the splitted humbuckers?
Hey Darrell, I've had a heck of a time looking for a seller for this guitar, any suggestions my friend?
Regarding "prestige", Cort logo design does not help very much. It seems a kid made it in Coreldraw using a low quality free font. They should definitely redesign it.
Sensacional
did you not do a review on this guitar before?
I'm just waiting for new KX-series models :(
Not sure if you mentioned it, but is the neck a roasted wood?
Just mahogany, and that's why it needs graphite rods for support. Being a bolt on with no heel plate at the screws is a piss poor design.
Firewood
What exactly is a mahawgony bawdy ?
Do you think these or the Sire super strats arebetter?
