Love this format and seeing different combinations to help me plan a new flower bed! It’s also really nice to see beautiful color on these gloomy cold Illinois days.
The bumble bees love to sleep on the blanket flowers. I used to work for a local garden center and every morning when I got to work the bees were still fast asleep on those gorgeous blankets flowers. I'm planting some this year.
YES thank you for this video!! I would love more like it! Thanks for realizing we dont always know as much as you as a gardener. lol! I am learning and need all the help I can get. :-)
Beautiful designs, I like seeing what other people have put together even though most of these plants don’t work in zone 9 it’s still very informative. Thanks
Just found your channel. Love that you show the whole bed, go through each plant and then show the name of it with the arrows. I have been looking for just this thing for a zone 5 landscape.😊
I enjoy this kind of video. I love the information. I would love to see how your projects are doing now ~ even if homeowners are not keeping it up ~ it would be nice to see. I enjoy your channel ~ keep up the great work. Excited to see what you come up with next ! Thank you for running through the plant requirements and zones… size and such also why you chose them. That helps a lot! I have so much work to do in my own yard turning it into my garden. I find choosing the plants seems harder than digging and lifting things for me. I love so many plants but choosing the right ones that will live and thrive where I put them… well, that takes research! So thank you for being a source I can depend on for information as well as a fun videos to add some laughter in my day.
I’ve been binge watching your channel to prepare for the installation of a landscape island in my front yard. The video you made on how to properly proportion it and layer for balance and structure was perfect for me to learn from! Thank you!
I just like to say I think this is very great you put the names of the different plants in front of you so you can learn off the plants much better thank you
Nice review! I love using that east side of house and wish I had more of it. I have the Cats PJs Nepeta😂 This year would like to add dwarf conifers and grasses to new landscape project. Thanks for the ideas-very helpful!
Hi Michelle. I just discovered your channel. I love this concept as I am terrible at choosing plant combinations. I hope to learn something that will help me in my garden.
This was absolutely excellent! I will be using both examples in 2 areas, just need to change the bunny tail grass to a grass suitable to my zone, that should be easy. I got very excited about the Japanese Maple because it’s nearly impossible to find one for zone 3, and I found thru research the Orangeola is zone 5/6?? I prefer to plant specimen trees/shrubs one zone lower than I am. I will find something suitable. These types of videos are a real gift, Thank you so much!!!! Brenda🇨🇦ZN4
Thank you so much... I'm in Oklahoma n I have clay soil where I live but I'm getting a house built should be finished by next fall. I haven't a clue if the soil is clay like here. My new home will be approximately 6 miles from where I live now. I'm so excited.
Hi Michelle.Love the fabulous ideas. Could you help me design a corner house front yard with sunflowers in California weather, please? It maybe a combination of of sunflowers and other flowers. There already is a wide range of roses and lillies waiting to bloom in this spring. Your kind suggestions will be much appreciated.
Love your videos!! I love that you tell if it's deer and rabbit resistant. I have a groundhog problem in my garden. What plants, shrubs would be best for that? I have a lot of tall grasses, they seem to not touch them. Just would like some color in the garden (zone 7a, full sun). Keep up the great videos. ❤
I am not that familiar with them, but I did find a link for you to check out from Cornell Coperative Extension that might help you. ccecolumbiagreene.org/gardening/groundhog-resistant-plants
Thank you, I just came across your video and it is amazing!! My husband passed away when I was 7m pregnant with our third child…and was left with a home we had purchased 1.5yrs prior that had basically no landscaping (an 8yr old house that was so neglected…the yard literally looked like it was from the movie Jumanji). I have been struggling on choosing perennials..I tend to grab for pinks/purples…and I have this issue that I try to make everything symmetrical and matching…and well it just doesn’t have the same flair as what you are showing…haha so I have lots to learn. I can’t wait to look through your other videos, thank you so much…keep teaching and sharing your wonderful knowledge!!
Michelle can you do a video on where to get the plants. I live in Indiana zone 6 and I never see alot of the trees, shrubs and plants you show. I've looked on line as well and either out of stock or plants not on the sites.
I really liked the video Michelle. How much would a medium sized fractured boulder cost someone? I’m wanting a rock.. I have a place for it but I’m not sure how to go about getting one and how much to budget for one. Thank you for sharing your knowledge & I always enjoy your happy attitude! From your northern neighbor in southwest Michigan! 😊♥️
That is hard to answer...they are all so different. If they have iron-ore running thru them they are heavier. And if you have a way to get it yourself, or have it delivered...and wow...I have no idea what your area would be.....so this is a very vague, wild guess.....$150-$300
Love, love, love! I hope you do some more!
What an incredible, detailed and thorough video! Please continue to create more content on this topic! Thank you so much, Michelle!
