Back in the day the Enfield importer for The Netherlands was a somewhat famous road racer from my home town. Never cared much for the Enfields, still don't. The same guy also imported Guzzi and Velocette. I was/am a road racing enthusiast and back then just 18, Guzzi were for old men. Back then the V7 Sport was not yet introduced. Yet I did love the Velocette. Could not afford one then and can still not afford one now. Not a lot changed in 50 years 🙂. Thanks for the video!
I agree on the aftermarket electronic ignition. Seems like every 10 years a new one comes out for the old bikes, with all these promises on performance and reliability ... And then they break and the manufacturer no longer exists.. Always stick with the points if that's what the bike originally had installed.
Yup! Right on! But the advancer cant be found anymore for this bike. So we do our best with the electro
Not period but a set of Mikuni's saves a lot of kicking. The sound of that made my Christmas, such a good note.
You have saved another one, good job Dave!
Its very close, but I do have it and the other one going good now. Thank you. I'll update the video after the holidays. Mery Christmas!
The RE Interceptor I believe was underated in the late 60's especially here in the UK. I can't remember ever seeing many, even today on the classic bike circuit ?
Merry Christmas Dave to you and your family from the UK 🎄. 👍🏴
These were not competitive on price with Triumph and BSA in the UK at the time. They were built for the US market primarily.
@@John900C Yes. Most of the 750 Interceptors were exported to the States. British collectors look to purchase one that doesn’t run here and ship it to the U.K. for refurbishing.
It may not be completely original, but that is a fantastic bike. Just a beautiful classically styled british twin.
Didn’t know it came with a rev up reverse.
@@bullpencycles every time you have it gas on the center stand it would vibrate backwards a few inches.
Oh, you have good eyes! I was wondering what those marks were on my cement. I noticed them the next day!
Love it when they go backwards when revving on stand! Have a Mk1A does exactly the same!Good job 🎉 Keep them running
Yea, I didnt really notice that until someone pointed it out. Good to know that's normal
