Ok so the whole deal of shadow being well edgy is 50 years ago he was created by using raw chaos energy, black arm dna(a black arm is an alien), and I think hedghog DNA, so when the government became aware of eggmans grandfather gerald robotniks projects in a space station in space called the ark, the military were going to send him to prison along with project shadow into a lab, so shadow took his best friend maria to escape the soldiers, so maria put him in a pod, and after that a soldier shot maria right in front of shadow, after maria sent him to earth in a pod, shadow got amnesia because of the impact and was retrieved by the government and put into stasis for 50 years, then awoken by eggman to destroy the world to avenge Maria's death, then shadow remembered that is not what maria wanted so shadow sacrificed his life for earth we all thought he was dead, but he came back knowing humanity will turn on him but he says, Shadow: if the world decides to turn on me, I fight like I always have
