I thought, like TREASURE, they were going to go with something completely different from the YG-style, but it looks like they are definitely going to have the "YG genes" but I still think they'll have a possible twist. He is also a producer ofc and has produced for other idol groups. 143 ent has Lightsum that debuted in 2022. Rapper DOK2, also a legend, moved to 143 in 2022. He was a judge in SMTM 2014 when Bobby won the show. They have 2 girls from kepler and now 2 trainees who are going to survival shows too. What iKON did in the past 3 days is not something that could easily be done on that timeline. It is already cooking months back. My heart will go with iKON, they are artists in the first place. They don't feel the growth under YG anymore so their opening new paths for themselves. Its normal and I love it. Honestly, I really can't wait for all the music they'll put out this year and the years to come. HIPHOP iKON is coming to town.

Agreed... There's a reason why most of the YG idols are called idol's of idols.... Even YG Trainee gets huge respect in Korea because it's not easy being under YG. That's the sole reason papa YG is so confident about his debuting groups and that's the reason i stan YGE no matter what (although i know sometimes Blackpink really really gets their comeback pushed back by a lot, but then again when they do have a comeback it's always making history so I'm fine with it). It’s still technically their pre debut era, but at this point you have to believe how good these girls are despite their young age. YG/YGE are really good at finding all rounder talents or ACES in all aspect of music and performing. It is huge that even the senior groups are hyping them up even being involve in their debut like choreography or maybe even music. We saw Lisa in those dance practice clips. Who knows we might have a YOON (WINNER) or CHANHYUK (AKMU) involved in composing/producing some of their songs.
I think if Black Pink does go to the black label then it'd be similar to how BTS is on Bighit which is now a subsidiary label of HYBE but New Jeans is on Adora and Le Ssearfim are on Source which are both subsidiary labels of HYBE. So it's still on the same tree, but on a different branch. So maybe that's the way YG is handling it to not have two flagship girl groups at once? Black Pink can go to a different label on paper but still be on the family tree and do more of their own thing now that Black Pink is a known and established group, while YG focuses on debuting and promoting Baby Monster.

* For blackpink I don't know what to think about this black label rumor. YG has already denied it but they also denied Bobby leaving the company and then like a month and a half later all of ikon is leaving. It is possible that negotiations were still going on at that time so they really didn't think he was going to go but idk. I don't see what the benefit would be for them to move to the black label. YG would have to keep funding their comebacks anyways cuz I don't think such a small label could afford it so what would be the actual difference?
