Another hack for your watercolor palette is to remove the tabbed tray and you can get another row in. Pick up a roll of self adhesive magnetic tape, and then cut little rectangles and stic to the bottom of your half pans…the magnet keeps them from wiggling around. I use magnetic tape even in the regular tray pan…the tabs are a PITA when I want to frequently swap colors for plein air painting. I have a pan meant for 18 roomily placed half pans that now holds 28 half pans … it’s amazing how many more you can squeeze in without the tabbed tray! I’m looking forward to your 2022 coloring adventures!

Love the glitter and metallic watercolor palette. Those pencil cases are wonderful, I’m now stuck with the multi zippered one that I bought when I did not know better. I really like the idea of having all the different types of mediums in one case 👏🏻 You always get the coolest stuff ever! To get your watercolors to not move around, adjust the metal tab before you put the pan in. Put it a little tighter than you think you need, then put the pan in at an angle, under the tab, then snap the pan all the way in. It keeps them much tighter. I watched a watercolor artist do this . I wish I could remember who so I just could link the video.
I haven’t got the animals one, I might check it out. I’m hoping to get the Wild winter one soon. Wanderlust is beautiful but the pages are very intimidating!
I think all pencils have a bit of wax and oil in them but they differ in the proportions of each, so Prismas have more wax. Wax helps you to smoosh colours into each other more easily (blend) whereas oil based pencils work better for layering. I’m no expert on these things though!

I am new to watercolour pencils and am enjoying the Staedtler Karat watercolour pencils set of 12 that my husband had. I am going to buy a large set this year but unsure which brand. I have the full set of Polychromos and was thinking of getting the Albrecht Durer to accompany/ blend with them. Or should I get the Caran d'ache Supracolor which would give me a new range of colors to use wet and dry as I don't have any pencils by Caran d'ache. Thank you!
Both sets are beautiful and I don’t think you’d be disappointed with either of them. It might be nice to try out the Supracolours as a different range of colours to the Polys but they are more expensive (I think!)
