For non-basketball watchers or those who have never played: A regular player does not get double or triple-teamed and face-guarded on almost every possession, constantly forcing the ball out of their hands, especially not a rookie. If the team keeps losing, it means one of several things: 1) the team lacks an offensive strategy to exploit this overcommitment; 2) the other players are not a sufficient enough threat offensively; 3) there are team chemistry problems. Class dismissed.
Or #22 doesn't have game outside 3 point shooting or can't get a shot unless she's off ball running thru screens.
4) The player is unable to get the ball in an advantageous spot. If all you know how to do to get the ball is come off a screen 30 feet from the basket, you will not take advantage of the OCCASIONAL double team. 5) If you can't make quick strong decisive passes out of a double team, you won't exploit the "overcommitment".

Im not one of those who feels the obligation to pick either CC and Angel, just as a basketball fan the gap between who Clark and Angel are as players compared to the top players at their position is wide. Yes they both are rookies and have shown plenty of strides, but they have a loooooooong way to go. If you watch guards like Arike or Jewell they both have tools that Clark has to develop and thara just on the offensive end. If you watched A'ja go against Kamilla and Angel, the diffence in their bags is so wide that they dont even look like they're playing the same game. I say that to say this, popularity doesn't mean better, nor is the W full of women who cant play. Lets give these young women time to figure it out before we crown them. The W had players like Swoopes, Bird, Hammond, Catchings, Tina Thompson, Lisa and so on. The W didnt just start wirh this rookie class.

The coaches and players respect Clark more than any other guard in the W my man, the proof is in the W's ACTIONS, not their words, by the defense all W teams play on Clark vs any other PG. It's the W that's changed THEIR game to because they fear Clark and rightly so. Ain't Clark's fault her supporting cast of suboptimals can't (or won't) take advantage of a 4-3 advantage or even a 4-2 advantage when Clark is double or triple teamed. She's clearly the best offensive PG in the league. The shit she did in college? She had screens buddy. No she didn’t. Wheeler played fine off the ball but when the ball was in her hands she consistently had tunnel vision and made bad entry passes into the post or didn’t see Clark when she was running off screens for good looks for three.
No she didnt g. Clark was getting double teamed and heavy defensive pressure the entire game while no one was guarding wheeler. Clark still managed to take nice looks and feed the post but boston and smith were not finishing.

Rewatch these clips and count the number of times Clark is standing around when the ball goes up. Not even a thought to rebound. Then go back and watch how many times she stood and watched players go to the basket for a layup. Then go back and watch how many times she threw her hands up in disgust when someone on the other team scored. There is more to basketball than shooting threes. I have seen flashes of brilliance from her but too many instances where she is not hustling. That is what will get her teammates to rally around her. That is what will make them risk suspension to go to her defense. Shooting logo threes and getting all the glory in wins and none of the blame in defeats will not make her team enjoy this experience or want to play hard for her. It's kind of simple to figure out. Leave it on the floor, Caitlin, and your game will transfer to the W. Just like some announcer said the other day. I am not sure that CC got that 'dog' in her.
Bruh get a basketball education. On some plays she draws defenders away which helps open up space for her teammates. She either waits or runs around to receive the ball. All players off the ball do this at times so pay attention. 🤡🤡🤣🤣

Part of getting an assist is converting a makeable shot. If you look at the looks vs. turnovers, Caitlin is fine. But of course some of you won't because you're not interested in judging Caitlin fairly. btw, on Sunday Caitlin had 13 assists and 5 TOs. And those that do a deep analysis of her TOs show just how strong her passes are. If a few get picked off, so be it. I see the positives and her passing is outstanding.

I think they will. Caitlin hit 2 very deep 3s and made some great passes. That's what a lot of the crowd comes to see. Even if Indiana isn't playing well those that want to see Caitlin will take the chance to see her hit deep shots and make great passes. They're not expecting perfection. And if they're playing a team on their level, then they hope for a win or even a 30 point game from Caitlin. IMO, she's due for one but the schedule is tough for a few days.

Why does Indiana refuse to shoot midranges if CC is getting blitz everytime and she makes the dump off pass our bigs have to be able to knock down elbow jumpers or one dribble floaters or atleast shoot them instead they look for a dribble hand off or drive and take a contested lay not playing Samuelson when she’s one of our the best shooters is crazy also sometimes when we kick to the wing we can’t dump down low every single time some of those have to be shots I get not the smothered ones but lightly contested then fire it especially with the clock running low

You are obviously new to the WNBA. The Fever have been a horrible franchise for years. Ringing up big numbers against them is no great feat. Do that against the Liberty and I'll be impressed.
