-Mps get paid a hefty salary one of the highest in Africa and in the world based on a countries GDP. On top of this they get sitting allowances for a job they already get paid to do. They also get allowances for houses and cars. They pay 3% on housing and the govt subsidizes the rest. Market rates are 9%-10%. All Kenyans pay market rates, why should MPS who are servants of the people get this benefit including cars. No wonder every MP, CS included once appointed move to the most posh residences in Kenya and build mansions in their rural homes.
Mps are so far removed from the people who elected them thats why they did not blink an eye to include bread, milk and sanitary pads in the finance bill for a tax hike. They did not even blink an eye by removing school feeding programs. All these should never have been included.
The money should go to school feeding programs all over the country no child shall go to school hungry. This to will spur rural economies as the farmers have a ready market to provide their produce to schools.
