Another great video , brilliantly edited , packed with information. Showing how it can be done with the right tackle, not loads of tackle. And be it a broken car or a replacement piece of tackle desperately needed from your supplier. Just a two minute call , keeps anxiety down, and customer loyalty. We have a plethora of tec now days, should we go back to a diary and pencil ?
Would 'South Lea farm' be a good choice of venue for 'river dead's' now the flow has reduced? Guess I need a mild cloudy day for best choice. I have had a number of autumn pike and perch there in the past whilst hemping/seed fishing for silvers, I always carry an opportunity livebaiting rig and rod, just in case I get munched by preds. However, I have never pred fished there in winter. I'm guessing 'lives' might be difficult on a cold winters day Duncan. Chris Gadsden. [Crispy]
That's the obvious answer in bite detection but a recipe for disaster in setting the hooks or wanting to go home with in rod in the same amount of pieces it came with!

Good vid! Love river piking, might have to respool in braid

Do the Eastern E########s not destroy the fishing with all the muching?
No
How long was your trace mate looked more than 18 inches or maybe the camera angle
Quite a bit longer, not my personal choice....
Looks like the Loddon

Hi Duncan, would you ever consider using a quiver tip and braid for pike? I have found it good for zander in the past.
