The Ugly Duckling was originally the story of a Swan egg that fell under the care of a mother Duck. Due to baby Swans looking vastly different from ducklings, he was called 'ugly' but not to the extent of the Analog Horror version. The story ends with the now full-grown Swan coming across another group of Swans, who compliment him and accept him. He was confused by it, until he finally looked at his own reflection and saw that he too was a fully grown and graceful Swan.
8:39 As someone who suffered with sleep paralysis on and off from age of 6 till my early 20’s, it can be terrifying. It just depends on the dream your stuck in. I had one reoccurring dream about people surrounding my bed staring at me as I sleep. They would get closer and closer and the only way I could make them go away was to turn on the light. But your so heavy and almost feel glued to the bed, you can’t move. And it almost hurts to try. Sleep paralysis is when REM paralysis doesn't deactivate (due to stress, it doesn't allow the brain to function properly) but, it makes it so we can open and move our eyes. We are still dreaming, we just see what we are dreaming as if it was with us physically.

If you are a lucid dreamer like me (some nights), you can often experience things worse than sleep paralysis: lucid nightmares. Lucid dreams are very hard to maintain, and take lots of practice to gain even the smallest amount of control in your dreams. In the beginning of my lucid dream journey, I struggled to even walk. After a couple months, I could explore the world my dream was making for me. After another couple months, I could alter the reality of my dream to make my own scenes but I could still not do anything unrealistic. If I tried to fly, my dream would end, for example. After around a year and a half, I finally had complete mastery. But during those beginning stages, soon after I learned how to explore the world my dreams made, I still had no control over what happened. I could run around, but I didn’t know what would happen next. If I grew even the smallest bit anxious, it would spiral out of control until I was in a nightmare scenario. Sleep paralysis is small potatoes compared to lucid nightmares. And sleep paralysis is more common for people who do lucid dream, I’ve experienced quite a bit of it. With sleep paralysis, the worst I experience is the Hat Man slowing walking over to me in bed until they are in my face, and then I wake up. Eventually, I learned to not be anxious during sleep paralysis and I would simply be frozen without seeing creepy things. But even with my mastery over Lucid Dreaming, I can still have lucid nightmares where my worst fears and eldritch horrors come to life. I lose my ability to have a proper control over my dream, limited to me only having minor control such as creating a new exit or mysteriously obtaining a weapon (that doesn’t even work). However, sometimes I can do a forced lucid nightmare where I don’t experience any fear because I am making it all. I am doing a dark souls boss fight with a disgusting demon and I have fun with it. If you plan on getting into lucid dreaming, prepare for sleep paralysis and lucid nightmares. Prepare to be randomly awoken in the middle of the night became you overstepped your bounds of what your mind can process (which is a scary feeling in itself). Take anxiety supplements, listen to calming music or commentary, and/or read a nice book, all before falling asleep. And take some melatonin if you are aware you have trouble sleeping normally.

The video of the babysitter was originally uploaded as a horror short with the idea of it being a series of short videos for social media. People have found it and just uploaded it without giving credit or even context, If you’re thinking that it’s so incredibly fake, that’s because it’s not trying to appear realistic. Because of this, you didn’t see the ending of the short.
8:05 I think I had Sleep Paralysis before. I was asleep, but I could see my bedroom, in all it's glory at night, nightlight and all. Out of nowhere, I hear someone say "HERE COMES MR. SMILEY!!" and I watch as something darts into my room, to my left, hiding from my vision, so I turn my head over to look, and there was just this creepy face, quickly/violently twitching (like the guy in this clip) with a big ass grin and voids for eyes, staring at me. I'd assume it was sleep paralysis due to the fact I could feel my body convulsing, trying to wake up. it was... horrific to say the least.

10:20 These are from a short film told through Instagram Reels. They aren't TikToks but since they're pretty much the same format as TikTok, naturally, TikTokers will repost that. Forgot the name of the film though.
Sleep Paralysis is an event in which your brain is half awake and half asleep. Your in a limbo of REM sleep. Remember, during REM (the dreaming stage), your body paralyses itself so you don’t act out your dreams in real life. When you are half conscious during REM sleep, your body is still paralyzed and you experience “hallucinations” that are just your dreams/nightmares. You can actually have sleep paralysis without any horrors appearing. The monsters only appear because the paralysis makes you anxious, you wonder why you can’t move, and the anxiety leads to fear which makes your mind produce nightmares. If you can recognize that you are suffering a bout of sleep paralysis and you can stay calm, you won’t see any scary crap and you’ll properly wake up in a little bit. Remember, the sleep cycle is just that: a cycle. There are 3-4 stages of sleep on the cycle, the 3rd/4th always being REM sleep. After the cycle repeats a few times, you exit REM sleep and you wake up. The cycle gets longer as the night progresses, with REM being the deepest sleep stage where waking you up is the hardest and your mind dreams. It can actually be very disorienting to be woken up in the latter half of your sleep stages, btw. As the last stage of REM for the night passes, your body goes back into stage one as the cycle sorta restarts, and you usually wake up in stage one (the lightest sleep stage). Because your body is paralyzed, you are in a dreamlike state, you are in the heaviest/deepest stage of sleep, and your mind is usually disoriented from half-waking up during REM in sleep paralysis, it is very easy for you to freak out, get scared, and see scary and unusual things like the Hat Man. .
I don't know why but the computer singing Daisy Bell has always been a comfort to me. I guess I just find it cute that a computer is singing a song about someone they love.
5:32 the scariest things about the deinonychus in this video are. 1: you can see someone laying dead in a hazmat suit suggesting it ate someone prior to encountering the main character. 2: it’s eyes suggest it has very good eyesight considering they glow red in camera lenses that means that if it hears you. It can definitely see you.. 3: about the person laying in a hazmat suit. You can see the deinonychus eating something when it turns to walk towards the main character. It is a human arm. 4: it could’ve probably already heard the main character due to its superior hearing and smell. 5: if it is eating or currently hunting prey and sees you (the main character) it will stop hunting the current prey and chase you down instead. Since you interrupted it’s hunting/feeding it will then tear you to shreds. This can suggest that the guy in the hazmat is still alive but passed out unconscious due to the blood loss. It is eating him alive and there is nothing that can save him. o r y o u . . . The deinonychus will then tear you to shreds and there is nothing that can or will save you. You can hide but due to its sight-smell and hearing it will inevitably find you. If you have any firearm we have specific instructions that say you should aim it in your throat and pull the trigger. It’s better to have a quick death than to be eaten alive by this monstrosity. Also. If you see/know the location of other people you should run in the opposite direction as there is nothing that they can do to help you.. (this is not copy and pasted I wrote this out myself. Check if you would like.) :)
With the ugly duckling, the true tale is that the ugly duckling was born in a duck family and was made fun of for looking the way he did but he grew up to be a swan instead of a duck and was more beautiful than his family because he was a different species all along. The analog took a different turn with this tale and it's honestly a very interesting concept.
Pretty sure in the original story it was the ugly "duckling" being raised by a family of ducks before they realize it's actually a baby swan. Not sure why they changed it to everyone being swans in this one.

For those of you wondering.. yes.. I was bored and I know quite a bit about the deinonychus.
This was pretty cool, hope you do more like this.

That Russian sleep experiment jumpscare ACTUALLY SCARED ME.
I'm surprised that this series is still going
With the ugly duckling, the true tale is that the ugly duckling was born in a duck family and was made fun of for looking the way he did but he grew up to be a swan instead of a duck and was more beautiful than his family because he was a different species all along. The analog took a different turn with this tale and it's honestly a very interesting concept.

If anyone is wondering, at 6:34, the clip is from "the taking of deborah logan". Haven't watched it yet but it looks like a cool movie.
What a great video to watch before bed
Pretty sure in the original story it was the ugly "duckling" being raised by a family of ducks before they realize it's actually a baby swan. Not sure why they changed it to everyone being swans in this one.
Bet you're wondering how I commented before the video went live...
Truth is, I'm a time traveller
ok
Or you just went to the video while it was premiering?
