I have to say a very nice machine you’ll spend a bit more on it but a very compact reliable machine he is very happy with his cut silage and tops with it. Have you seen the video Tom pemberton had last year of the roller with the aerator on it that put slices in the ground to break through the pan to help with Drainage? Something like that might be worth trying before you go into big expensive work. Looking forward to Sundays video.
We used to do the cutting, spreading and rowing, but found it so much better to bring in the contractors with the big machines.. Front and side mower in and out in the wink of an eye and less pressure on the ground.
Not worth the hassle for me, and getting the time is also a thing, we may buy a baler some day and do our second cut as the kids get older and are able to drive.
Between trying to get help, cost of getting all the gear, maintenance and vreakdowns, time needed/taken getting the contractor isn't much dearer fir a better job
That was a great shot at the beginning of you driving the tractor out . At 2.42 ... a low angle shot on a wide lens where the camera is placed in front of the tractor . I thought you had brought in a Monster Tractor . !!! The tilt down which reveals Fendt is the best bit accompanied by a good meaty synth track . What a great sequence . Very dramatic and beautifully ended . You’re getting all arty on us John . Yup ! I liked that ❤️

you probably have a reason for this , but would you ever cut your own silage save a bit of money on contractors because you already have a disc mower
It's a seriously expensive job getting all the equipment and extra help. A contractor would finish the job in absolutely no time in comparison
