You can’t prepare for what you don’t understand and you can’t understand without investigating. Security via obscurity is no more effective in a dark-forest-universe-theory context than any other. The only way to ensure the survival of the species on a long enough timeline is to spread far enough that a stellar scale disaster isn’t an extinction event and the only way to do that is to see what’s out there.
