We do have a beach in Punta Gorda. Continue your drive past Fishville to Ponce De Leon Park. There is also a bird and small animal rescue habitat there that operates on donations.

I still prefer Hallandale Beach Florida more it’s a beautiful city with a growing communities and businesses and a good nightlife.🇺🇸❤

Should see it after we just had Ian blow through.
Thankfully after new codes in 2004-06 rebuilding from storms Charley, Irma ect...with-held and easier clean up. Evolved alot following Charley and the historical district include remained.
Off season, Summer time, many downtown restaurants, aren't open until after 4pm for dinner until September/October, or limited hours/day's.
Avoid Port Charlotte Beach waters - Englewood area offers a beautiful beach to swim and enjoy vs. Charlotte Harbor, unless visiting for its exterior nature and ambience.
Ponce De Leon Park isn't too bad as it is less brackish.
Wish Cayo and Cabbage Key were still there, as you mentioned the ferry boats or sunset cruises from The Village...
Friend's of mine, we'd boat there, and hang out during the weekend - camping on the island, Cabbage Key money restaurants was awesome...also growing up we'd camp in the islands State Park cabin's....until Ian directly impacted this year, so unfortunately don't believe an island is even there still.
Alot of erosion throughout the years included. 😔

gonna say Hurricane Charlie's has the best Pina Colada on the beach. Ask for a Sailor Jerry pina colada, it is better and less pricey as the TT's bar. Plus, you can walk around with your drink if you want.

TT's had some bartenders that were grumpy dealing with all the demands of their clientele, where Charlie's had the best attitudes..

Except for to the beach by ferry; was this village with all of these shops, accessible within walking distance from your hotel? What hotel did you stay at? expensive?

So this was a day trip for us but there are hotels at both ends of the harbor walk. The harbor walk itself is roughly 2.5 miles long so it would be a long walk from one end to the other and back.
The rooftop bar we stopped at was at the Wyvern Hotel but the Fisherman's Village shopping area also has a hotel called the Suites at Fisherman's Village.

Punta Gorda is about the worst place I've ever been to in all my 50 years of life.

Please delete this video and keep it a secret or PG will turn into a Cape Coral. Which is way nicer btw. Everybody check out Cape Coral instead!
