    You have a much better understanding of how the knotters work than I do. I just wanted to mention that we had a Massey baler that for years, the left side, would miss tying 6 or more bales every wagon load. Service people said to put a new knotter on it. It got repaired one year when a neighboring farmer was over and noticed that the needle was too far from the knotter. We adjusted the needle and that was the problem, it worked perfectly after that.

    I worked for a dairy farmer when I was in high school. It seemed like we were cutting and baling every week. I can still smell that fresh baled hay today. Nothing better !

    I saw a demo of one of those mini round balers. I thought they were just a cute thing for the horse people. But they do make sense in some cases. It made round bales lite enough the horse ladies can lift them. :) They can be just rolled across the floor instead of needing to be lifted everywhere. But they are expensive....

    • @loganbeedy5950
      @loganbeedy5950 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, you can buy a complete package with the mini baler, a little hay rake, and like a 2 drum mower for I think $15000 and that doesn’t include a tractor to run it. For $15000 I can buy full size hay equipment and probably get a tractor to run it

    My advice for a tedder would be to go new. I spent a lot of time shopping around with used tedders. Even picked up a used 2 basket. Everything was clapped out an almost new price. Finally bit the bullet and bought a brand new tedder. 4 basket pequea. They also make a 2 basket that is heavy built. Worth looking at. Happy with mine

  • @BandyFarms
    @BandyFarms 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Get a H&S 2 basket or similar. They work up about 10 ft wide. Could find one for less than $1000. Frontier is the green brand you’re thinking of I believe. Congrats on the new job!

    Once you have a tedder it really is a game changer. I bought one over by three rivers 2 years ago for 650 and its a neat little deal. It is a grimm model 8 and its all pullys and a belt so literally no gear boxes to worry about.

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy

    If they'll pay to get your applicator license and your CDL that's worth quite a bit alone. I've made a million dollars with my CDL over the last 25 years. I can't imagine you working a city job, you don't seen much like the sitting around type haha

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
