  • @whoisniilante
    @whoisniilante 8 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    I mean, Ja Rule allowed himself to get bullied out of his own lane. That, in itself, was Rule's downfall. 50 said Ja was lame for singing on the hook, then he dropped Candy Shop..

      Husabceuoa Cieabcueoa Because it was a tactical business move by 50, but he disguised it as something else. I'm not saying it was staged, but there were a lot of calculated moves by 50. I don't think Ja knew what was happening.

    truth be told 50 deceived the whole industry and rode the wave for as long as he could lol. Ja Rule was pretty much crucified... but everybody LOVED Ja Rule before 50 Cent was known. So he obviously had talent. People still don't even know why they hate Ja other than because 50 said so lol. He should make records... he still has a fan base if he selling out like that. congrats to him

    • @KontryBoy706

      thaNorthStar.com how old are you? You have no idea what you talking about. You praise the very man that "killed" his career and then himself was singing and STILL is singing in his raps. Do you not see the hypocrisy in that? Don't get it twisted I like 50 too. Rule did street music and did his radio shit. Same shit 50 did. I bet you was too young when Ja was on. Probably only know the singles

    • @KontryBoy706
      @KontryBoy706 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      +KontryBoy706 people fell in love with 50s back story and turned on Ja, i think at the end of his run before 50 came in the picture Ja wasnt coming out with that radio street shit just focused on the pop shit, 50 on the other hand had 21 Questions and a song like Many Men on the radio, that balance

    • @benjaminmeyers6595
      @benjaminmeyers6595 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +thaNorthStar.com YOU ARE DELUSIONAL JA HAD A HUGE FAN BASE WAY BEFORE 50. GOTTI ALREADY TOLD YOU ONCE THE FEDS RAIDED THEIR OFFICE TO INDICTE MURDER INC ON MONEY LAUNDERING ON TOP OF CERTAIN RECORD LABELS TURNING THEIR BACKS THINGS SEEM TO GO DOWN HILL. YOU MUST BE 9 YEARS OLD DEAF , DUMB OR BLIND OR JUST PLAIN STUPID BECAUSE IN THOSE TIMES MURDER INC WAS WELL CONNECTED IN THE STREETS JUST ASK CHAZ.

    • @KontryBoy706
      @KontryBoy706 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      drew rivas
      Ok I can agree with that and I see what you are saying. But at the same token... that was after Ja had BEEN on so he was at the top of his peek. He released hit after hit on the radio but they were mainstream records for mainstream relevance... that's what SELLS. He did all the street shit already from the first several albums he still did Blood in My Eye late in his career he still did street shit like New York. Now in contrast look at 50's career... those songs you mentioned with a good balance street/radio was on his FIRST record. Look at the contrast over the next few records? He started getting less and less street. Singles... were Candy Shop, Magic Stick and stuff like that later on... was it not? It's the same pattern that Rule was on. 50 got big and started making more radio singles and less street singles. But he still gave street stuff to his beginning fan base on albums and mixtapes... but most of it wasn't on the radio... same as Ja Rule

  • @znhait
    @znhait 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Ja Rule's problem was trying too much to be a street dude when he didn't need to. Instead of continuing to make his own type of music, he felt the needed to show people that he wasn't soft.

    Been watching a lot of videos in 2016 revisiting the Ja/50 beef, and it's clear that there was a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. It wasn't just that 50 was hotter than Ja or visa versa. It was because of the corporate machine that gave 50 the platform to destroy Ja. Ja had the Feds, radio stations, and corporations turning against him. And yes, 50 was criticizing Ja for singing in his records and being too pop, which helped turn the fanbase to the gangsta rap style. But it was the business end that fucked Murder Inc.I was guilty of clowning on Ja, but the truth is I miss his music and it would be nice to see a comeback with some hit records.

    if I was ja rule I would be stressed the fuck out returning to music
    1. do you do the hardcore street venni vetti vecci and blood in my eye route 2. do you go the mix of hardcore tracks and r&b collaborations like R.U.L.E and the mirror
    3. Go back to the best selling formula of 3:36, Pain is Love and last temptation
    4. go a completely new route like pain is love 2
