Yasir Qadhi is suffering from a severe case of inferiority complex. He decided to go to Yale to study under his Shaykh, Tony Blair, who subverted his Eemaan through the magic of eloquence and persuasive speech. And thereafter, instead of going to the scholars to clarify his doubts, he formed his own American version of Islam and incorporated many contradictory ideologies into it, the likes of Ikhwaanis, Khawaarij, Murji'ah, Mu'tazilah, along with Western ideologies, such as liberalism. Yasir Qadhi is a great example of what happens when you choose to distance yourself from the scholars. Allaahu Musta'aan!

Imagine having the audacity to even consider changing some of the laws revealed by Allah subhana wa ta'ala. As Umar once said to Abu Bakr and the gathering of saqeefah: I would rather have my head chopped off, having committed no sin for it, than to be the khalifah of Abu Bakr. So too do I say: I would rather die than to even dare to change a single law of Allah.

The issue of whether it was abrogated was discussed amongst sahabah. His idea of the text being problematic is dodgy. And people who try to remove the concept of hudud are going against Allah's laws.

Being against Yasir Qadhi doesn’t give anyone the liberty to abuse him. Calling him ikhwani, khawarij etc. pray for his guidance if it disturbs you so much.
Calling him ikhwaani isn't an abuse. He has proven & shown time & time again that he is upon their manhaj, and is heavily influenced by the Orientalists. It's not an abuse. It's simply what he has become now. I'm sure everyone who advises him time & time again (mind you, he has been advised hundreds, if not thousands of times by our brothers, students of knowledge, senior scholars) both publicly as well as privately, are making du'a for him to be guided, as his knowledge would be a serious asset for this ummah if he starts to use it to uphold & elevate the sunnah of the Messenger (peace & blessings of Allaah be upon him), as he once used to. But in return, he calls them "madkhalies", "sophomores" & and the pious predecessors as "medieval" & outdated, and calls the deviants the "best intellectual thinkers" of these current times .... So i dunno. The path he has chosen is definitely the one which will end in a disaster for him, except if Allaah decides to have mercy upon him, and we all sincerely hope that Allaah will have written mercy for him.
