Changi Prison. That's near where I live. Very sad how they treated the PoWs. Your great uncle must have been a really tough guy. RIP. I'm sure he was a great man.
Thankyou. He truly was... I saw pictures of when he had returned. Him and his brother were both on the same boat when they were captured, and the picture had them both in Sydney upon their return. They were nothing but skin and bone...
Here's to all the remaining survivors of Pearl Harbor, too. I used to live near there as a kid back in the early 2000s. Saw the memorial, too, with the fam as I did karate.
yeah good game indead, not my favourite tough but still underrated as hell. I remember me and my sister played this a lot on mp, i wonder how many hrs we spend on mp a lot, we tryed to go 120-0 vs bots on different maps , on some maps we managed to do it. We probably played troguh the sp a couple of times. Did it with friend too. Weird thing is my dad wanted to buy this game so he could play it ( he probably played 30 min or so) and it ended up with me playing this instead. And yeah the aligator, yeah scared me too.

My uncle bought an used Game cube almost 15 years ago. Everyday, after school, me and my brothers visited him to play on it. And Between a lot of games, there was this one. And, even if it Is not my favorite video game, this single song stayed in my head even after me and my brothers grow up and became old enough to work. I just find this single track so heroic, and tragic at the same time, just like my uncle. He never finished university (Just a year more and he could have got it) because he decided to help my grandpa at his little carpentry. He was the funniest and bravest of all the heroes of my childhood...Today, he was buried, and even if his body is traped inside a wood cage that will never be open again, I am sure that he is more free than ever before. This track reminds me of those times, when my heroe was still alive, full of life, capable of doing almost anything. Thank you, Ditto... (Yes, that is a stupid nickname, but we loved it)

The memories I have attached to this song! Me and my older brother would walk over to our best friend's house during the summer (almost daily) in the brimming heat and we'd play this game for hours. I can still remember the music, the feel of the carpet, the sound of the AC in the window, the dusty smell of the room, and the old-fashioned Xbox controller vibrating in my hand as I got shot (which would happen a lot!) I'm not gonna slam online games, but there's something truly spectacular about playing old split-screen games together with your friends on a day with nothing else to do. It is my hope that this generation will come to realize that. Because when all's said and done, those are the days that'll stick with you for the rest of your life, as opposed to playing with someone you don't even know. That is my personal belief!

Years and years my brother and I played this game. From the 2000s to the 2010s. Me and him vs a team of AIs on the map with the ships. I remember the enemy team has a Japanese guy named Dogan who was so good. Man I miss those days and these games
I held on to my xbox until maybe 4 years ago and this was the only reason I did so lol this game was so good and truly a nostalgic score. So many memories from this game!
True .. Rising sun and Pacific assault .. to both should follow a 2nd part. Comb but never .. maaan this is so stupid. Would like to see how it would proceed.
I remember when my dad bought the pack with four MoHs (European Assault, Vanguard, this and Frontline) when I was little. We weren't very wealthy so we "only" had a PS2. That said pack didn't cost much since it had been out for several years by then (I believe we bought it around 2008-2009). I'm glad we didn't own a PS3 back then. Those MoHs were the backbone of my childhood. We used to play all of those games with my two friends and my cousin, who happens to be the same age as me, and the best childhood friend. Most of all we played this game since it had AI in its multiplayer. We were little, so we put ourselves against a whole bunch of rickshaws and/or other one-star enemies. Other than video games, we would play many different war-themed games, with plastic soldiers or ourselves (Luckily we all lived in the countryside so we had so many places to play in). These MoHs were a great influence to those games we played, and we created quite a bunch of stories with the inspiration from them. My brother and sister never played with me, which is fine, they are over five years older than me. But my dad tried to play with me when my friends weren't around. He was never good at it, but I'm so thankful that he tried.
Man this post hit me in the feels! Takes me back. Truly the best days ... I played with my cousin and family friend alot! Rising sun, Frontline, the "Old school" Call of dutys (The good ones) like finest hour and big red.... ahhhhhh to go back :)

The Arab spring the rise and fall of ISIS. And as of reading this now. Covid. But this music brings back good memories. Really good ones from my childhood.

I remember this game with so much love. I didnt play it alone, I played multiplayer with my brother. We had hours and hours of lot of fun. I still remember the name the soldiers we used to fight, Sergei or Tanaka for my brother, Oomomo for me, and the fact the we usually played it on summer vacations, in a tiny TV haha I even used this game for my history homework, and at class we were talking about WW2 and I told the teacher about some of the weapons of the game lmao
I remember being ain elementary school and trading games with a kid for this game and just all the hours of playing this game.. one of my favorites, and I actually still have the game I traded the kid for. I remember doing the petal harbor mission and being interested in history ever since that point and now I'm really interest in naval history, ships air craft carriers, planes and naval battles alike. I recently went on vacation in myrtle beach and made my way down to see CV-10 (Yorktown) and DD-724 (USS Laffey) and I just loved being surrounded by the history and reading stories about what these normal men went through.
We remember not just the fun we had online, but all the times we had with friends, all the fucked up jokes, one liners, all the sleep overs were you over dosed on junk food, and stayed up until noon, just do it again the next day because it was Saturday...We remember the follow friends we served with in the battles that were our childhoods...Its it just more or do you guys feel the same way.
dayum man, same things here..those multiplayer times..split screen against bots..ah..that weird Oomomo, and Takeuchi :D Just love this game..good ol' times :(
I played this game with my dad all the time on my awesome Nintendo GameCube. This theme is undeniably one of the greatest, most hard hitting nostalgic themes ever made.
I remember playing this game with my dad and brother when he was back from deployments overseas in the Navy, I really enjoyed those moments. My childhood was awesome, and this game definitely helped me appreciate what my dad did, no matter how young I was to fully understand it.
This made me cry so much. Greatest FPS ever created. I am joining the Navy when i am old enough, i will be proud to serve my country. Thank you to everyone who died to protect our country. R.I.P
I sincerely miss MOH. It was such a great counterbalance to COD. Not only did it keep them in check and on their grind, but MOH had some fuckin BANGERS themselves. Wish someone would revive it.
I'd also really like some Korean War games. Its shame we really don't have any by now. Same with the severe lack of Korean War movies. At least American ones anyway.
I'm hoping that Battlefield 1 will be successful to show that we're ready for more World War games. A battlefield set across the major theatres of World War 2 would get my vote... Western Front, Eastern Front, Pacific, maybe even the Spanish Civil War
I remember as a kid just booting the game up just to hear this and sitting on that menu where your inside the bridge of a naval destroyer watching that officer pacing around the bridge ;)
I miss Medal of Honor games. The veteran interviews in the bonus features were really nice and MOH in general just makes you remember that WW2 was won by people, each with their own story to tell. I really think a MOH set during the Korean War would be great but I hope it's soon while the veterans are still alive.
Reminds me so much of my childhood! This is the best video game that I ever played, this game brings back so many good memories on the ps2! RIP medal of honor Rising Sun
The era of rising sun european assault and finest hour plus big red one these are some of my first games i played those days are the golden age in my opinion.
I remember shooting down the Kamikazees in the first mission, my Grandfather very plainly said: "I did that, although it was just one and there were no orders to fire, but I did anyway, because well- if I hadn't acted, men could have died."
I remember playing this with my friend on his PS2. When we started getting bored we would always play on shima field against 6 Oomomo's with only Welrod's
The game where I enjoyed putting out fires so much that I would replay the first mission over and over again just to do it. It makes me sad to know there will be no more games in this series
Multiplayer in this game was actually outstanding. The maps were perfect for 2 on 2, I would play multiplayer with my 3 friends for hours on PS2. Specifically, the bell tower map and the baseball field were the most fun.
Medal of Honor Rising Sun and Undergraund - these are my personal favourites! I've spent so much time playing them... Oh the nostalgia strikes so hard! ;_; You know guys, I really wish when I will get old that I could go back to these times, with no worries, back to my childhood. Just for one day, so I could die happily as an old fart.
Ahh the memories of multiplayer campaign with my brother, I’m glad I still have the ability, no, the privilege of being able to play this and MOH Frontline
The soundtracks hit me THE MOST...one of the best games Ive ever played....coop isnt the same since then...at least I know there are still people that can reminisce with me :)
the werry first MOH game i ever started to play Rising sun. remember Pearl harbor, how sad and angry i got back then. just lived into the war. also riding that elephant. even Tanaka offering his life for us to save us. pls EA remake this one it is one of the great game of MOH

What a fantastic piece of music. And a great game too. These were less stressful times!
2:12-2:19 made me cry😢😭
😿
Crying tears of joy, so many memories! :D
Miss this game use to play it on ps2 every weekend #memories
me too man used to play it online before they shut down the servers
j’en ai des frissons, là ps2 me manque 😌
They should make an HD remake of this game like they did for moh frontline
That would be cool, they could also make it for last gen as well

Reminds me so much of my childhood! This is the best video game that I ever played, this game brings back so many good memories on the ps2! RIP medal of honor Rising Sun
My dear son this game is not dead to all if you still think of the action and fun of this game it is still alive in your mind :)
115lonewolf I still play this game proudly
Mordin Solus Then you sir are lucky
The era of rising sun european assault and finest hour plus big red one these are some of my first games i played those days are the golden age in my opinion.
welrod was the best gun in the game... you hear a "tick" and you know someone instantly died....
My childhood.... :')
so much memories :) the welrod was my favourite pistol
Back when videogames had proper music.
yeah, i think games , has lost that edge too thse days, i think games back then was overall just better
***** yeah i agree. To much on graphic , to much on storytelling, lesser focus on gameplay ,replay value and games was harder back then, then now.
Halo still has a kickass soundtrack to be fair
Yea but it's not as big as it use to be.
@@Mallinaamari agreed doom and halo will have good music
Hour long matches of only Bazookas+Baseball Stadium map+three buddies=good times.
good game, masterpiece music, RIP Tanaka... one of the best rising sun characters
this game.... marked my childhood.... :')
I JUST DIED OF NOSTALGIA!!!!!!
the best parts about the medal of honor games is when they show you interviews of ww2 vets describing their experience during the war
Fuck, the memories I have of this game
My childhood captured in this one song...
God man i played this game with my brother every day of the summer. Such good times :(
I remember shooting down the Kamikazees in the first mission, my Grandfather very plainly said: "I did that, although it was just one and there were no orders to fire, but I did anyway, because well- if I hadn't acted, men could have died."
The online PS2 community was epic for this game.
the gAMe that opened online consoles....man what a time to be alive
I remember playing this with my friend on his PS2. When we started getting bored we would always play on shima field against 6 Oomomo's with only Welrod's
Oh man that gives me nostalgia
Oomomo was an absolute unit that headband did something to him
That baseball stadium was a gold mine.
The game where I enjoyed putting out fires so much that I would replay the first mission over and over again just to do it. It makes me sad to know there will be no more games in this series
One of the games of my childhood.
It still brings memories back of a good time.
Iearnt so much of ww2 from this game.
With bromley,Griffin and tanaka
Bro the nostalgia is crazy my childhood😭
Right..?
😓
I remember playing split screen with my brother through every mission over and over and over... time flies man
They don't make em like they used to, boys.
Multiplayer in this game was actually outstanding. The maps were perfect for 2 on 2, I would play multiplayer with my 3 friends for hours on PS2. Specifically, the bell tower map and the baseball field were the most fun.
Medal of Honor Rising Sun and Undergraund - these are my personal favourites! I've spent so much time playing them... Oh the nostalgia strikes so hard! ;_;
You know guys, I really wish when I will get old that I could go back to these times, with no worries, back to my childhood. Just for one day, so I could die happily as an old fart.
That last sentence made my eyes get watery. I wish I could as well.
Ahh the memories of multiplayer campaign with my brother, I’m glad I still have the ability, no, the privilege of being able to play this and MOH Frontline
My favorite MOH since frontlines Rest In Piece Medal of Honor 1999-2007 now its modern warfare piece of shit i want to see another WW2 game now
0:35 - 0:46 ... that part.. ❤
I played this game 10 yeas ago now im 20 y/o .. i remember the mission where wew are inside japanese ship
LordPotax You should play Frontline as well, it's excellent!
me too.. my frist MOH !!
LordPotax My first gamecube game...without any way to save...I loved it anyway
I hope to give this game the love it deserves
Nunca vou me esquecer do camarada sendo puxado pelo crocodilo, nunca vou me esquecer de nenhuma missão, nenhuma fase Nunca vou esquecer tudo isso...
Nunca vou esquecer
*MEDAL OF HONOR*
My older brother and I used to play this game all the time when we were kids every day after school and we would stay up extra late on Friday and Saturday nights playing against bots. Damn I love and hate nostalgia.
One of my favorite Medal of Honor themes besides European Assault.
MrKajithecat Heroes also has an amazing theme. Instant chills.
+MrKajithecat European Assault and Rising Sun were my favorites in PS2. Great games!
+Doctor Joa
Call of Duty 3
MoH Rising Sun
MoH E.A.
MoH Heroes
Socom Confrontation
Best war themes ever.
+GabrielTheGuitarist you forgot MOH Frontline
I agree!
This theme is really bombastic and fits the game’s tone well. Hell, I even use it as my alarm sound
