    Always life slowly? LOL!

The load center of gravity will always self-adjust to position itself directly below the single point hook support.

This is general advice.. the topic should be based on calculation with the force on slings with respect to the load...

You have any calculations about this load

Why not lengthen the long side so you don't decrease the sling angle by shortening the short side?

      Yes thought this also

Very informative and in this condition how do we calculate SWL for sling becoz its different length

I'll save 7 minutes of your life. ...
Center of gravity is towards the side with more mass(duh)
Therefore, shorten chain on the heavier side to have the hook above center of mass of object ........

So which leg would have more tension and holds more load?

    • @Panther-

The one with the smallest included angle

This video is not enough to knowledge. Un balans load allways balans with increase of numbers connect shackle to shackle or we using chain Hoist for the level of crane Hook and centre of gravity

Understand center of gravity. Position hook there, hoist till one sling begins to get tight but not enough to move hook to shortest sling. Observe slack remaining in loose sling. Use that information to add appropriate rigging to tightest slings. Hoist slowly and confirm or readjust It’s not too complicated

Center of gravity will always be below the hook. If it’s close observe the place where an imaginary line passes thru the load. Estimate where that line would be if the load was level. Position hook there and use previous method and your load will be quite close to level. Master the method and you’ll be able to rig the load into any required angle after lifting the load once
