Nicest comment ever. Truly just made my day. I love that us dental people continue to raise each other up! Sending you SO much positive energy & wishing you the best on your dental hygiene journey!
So organized! I am the only hygienist at my office, and I have to jump between 4 operatories (I go to whichever room is open). Luckily I'll be starting a new job soon, and I am SO excited to be working out of 1 op like this!
I’m so jealous watching this because I used to have such a nice and convenient set up in my room until a couple years ago, but none of this would pass if public health were to audit here in Canada
@@Redh3adElizabeth Basically the only thing we can have stored in our ops are disposables (gloves, headrest covers, masks, prophy cups, etc.), and those things have to be kept in a sealed bin inside the drawers/cupboards, so if we were to open a cupboard the aerosols wouldn’t contaminate everything. We can’t keep things like probes or X-ray holders in there (and those holders would have to be individually wrapped and sterilized)
This just looks like a hygiene operatory. In my operatory, there are cabinets and drawers behind the dental chair, where I keep my vitals machine and monitoring leads, IV bags, IV tubing, catheter start kits, airway supplies, drugs, ventilator circuits, and the ventilator and IV pumps themselves are always plugged in.
Patient mirror is my go-to, I bought a little 3M sticky hook so that I can hang it up in the room where it’s most convenient and I don’t have to worry about going into drawers w dirty gloves.
so.... when you assemble your room trays- are you having to go through 50 drawers to get all the pieces you need? or is there a spot where you have all pieces in a small area for a variety of tray types?
I use the ones that my offices provide - because I happen to like them - but I know some hygienists bring their own. Totally depends on your preference!
nice and smart but a problem - 1 bin and through the worktop. There should always be 2 bins - 1 for normal waste and 1 for clinical as the clinical waste has to be disposed of by a licensed disposer. If placing something into the bin through the worktop it could hit the rim or side and spread along the worktop hence the bin should be isolated - wipe down is not always 100% effective. Also not seen any certificates yet - maybe different where she is but in England the dentists like to remind their patients of their qualifications
we have two bins :) we have to open the cabinet to get to the hazardous waste. also - I removed our licenses from the walls for this video so viewers won't see our personal information. hope this helps! stay well :)
I personally do not clean patient's tongues unless there is noticeable debris on it. I will, however, go over proper home care techniques for cleaning the tongue. Also - we will always do an oral cancer screening on the tongue. Hope this helps!
hi teeth talk girl pls im going to get amalgam fillings some small others large but i need to gt them cause im in pain but i get really nervous added to the fact i get vertigo pls do you have any coping techniques i can use during to the procedure
So exciting! Sending positive toothy vibes your way! Here is my video about how I started: th-cam.com/video/QfIb6jcqk1A/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps!!! Wishing you the best!!! :)
Great question! I have an updated "bad breath prevention" video coming up soon - where I talk about how using a tongue scraper is usually the best option (such as "Orabrush") but if you do not have a tongue scraper - a toothbrush is better than nothing! Hope this helps!
I don't know why I'm watching this but it's funny... I'm not in the field of Medicine at all but I'm way to obsessed with clean teeth, I hate cavity, gum diseases or bad breath at all, thank God I have amazing dentist who takes care of everything or give me some tips & tricks that he has in the pocket 😉 Every single day 2/day 3 min brushing, 2/day mouth rinsing w mouthwash Anticavity & Antiseptic than after a long day of eat food, drinking all of those juices I do floss 1/day at night... never asked my dentist if this is a 100% correct that I do to keep my teeth clean... #TeethTalkGirl You have a question from Electrical Engineer am I missing something or is it right/wrong way??? Also my dentist told me that I have a perfect hygiene of my teeth 😉😁

@@TeethTalk What office you work for?
I’m so jealous watching this because I used to have such a nice and convenient set up in my room until a couple years ago, but none of this would pass if public health were to audit here in Canada
I’m curious why this wouldn’t pass, what would they take issue with?

@@lexichanel1 ohh interesting, that makes sense. Good to be extra cautious and meticulous (not so convenient for you though, sorry:( )

When do you think you will do a video on the different types of bibs and why the UK uses reusable bibs?
very useful video especially for us who want to become dentists❤️
so happy to hear that! sending positive vibes your way!
We need an updated Drawer Setup video!!
yesssss! I gotta get on that :) :) :) because it's definitely updated!!!!! hopefully soon!
I love all your videos truly ❤️could you make a video on the different types of prophy paste?
I would take home toothbrushes all the time!
lol no! if they were free goodies from companies I could see that - but my boss actually pays for all those goodies for the patients! lol!
Where do you get the toothbrush tips for kids
so.... when you assemble your room trays- are you having to go through 50 drawers to get all the pieces you need? or is there a spot where you have all pieces in a small area for a variety of tray types?
How much time do you get for your adult
prophy recalls
Usually between 50-60 minutes pending if they need X-rays.
Did you buy your own prophy handle or do you use one that the office provides?
I use the ones that my offices provide - because I happen to like them - but I know some hygienists bring their own. Totally depends on your preference!
This was amazing!
thank you SO much for watching :)
Where do you get your scrubs? Are they figs?
they are called white cross scrubs :)
Hiii super nice and well organized
Thank you for watching!!! :)
Question is it ok to store sterile pouches(instruments) with disposable items?

Do some dentists do tongue cleaning when you go to the dentist?
I personally do not clean patient's tongues unless there is noticeable debris on it. I will, however, go over proper home care techniques for cleaning the tongue. Also - we will always do an oral cancer screening on the tongue. Hope this helps!
Teeth Talk Girl ohh ok, i was just wondering if there is visible debris is there like a special tongue cleaner at the dentists or something,
What is gum detox toothpaste? What is that for?
it seems to be extra foamy and the idea is that it can get inside the pockets of your gums better (if you have pockets). hope this helps!
I thought I saw handcuffs in the first drawer. 😳😂😏

Every office is different, but do you have like your own room to take your patients , or does the dental assistant calls you and you go to the room

Your latex and nitrile gloves on the wall should be the other way around to prevent the nitrile ones from becoming contaminated with latex particles.
good call :) ever since covid - we keep them inside separate drawers now :)
