Ah those were the good ol days i remember when i was little between 06 and 09 Ryan was on literally every poster in Philly. Im from Trenton NJ but everytime i went to Philly the stadiums were packed.
I will always remember jumping over an old ladies head just to get his autograph in his rookie season. He saw how bad I wanted an autograph(I was crying) and ignored everyone else and said “get me that kids hat”
He did it the right way. Worked hard in the weight room and hit ball after ball after ball.... We can probably throw a few hot dogs and a couple of beers in there too.
He may still be DH right now if that achilles injury didn't alter his power so much, but it obviously did, he was automatic 35-40 100 RBI before it, should've easily gotten to 400 maybe 500 career HR, his number along with utley and rollins should be retired over the next few years.
@@anonymousanonymity2815 I think any fan would take a few more declining seasons of 30+ HR and 110 RBI over what Howard became after the achilles, He went from 6 straight years of at least 30 HR and 100 RB1 to never hitting those numbers again, that's a huge difference and likely wouldn't have happened without that injury.

@@anonymousanonymity2815 We'll never know, He went from 33 HR to 14 then 11 then back in the 20's, those sub 20 HR seasons were ALL the achilles injury like I said highly unlikely his numbers get that bad without that injury, it's one of the worse injuries an athlete can have.

You just don’t sign power hitters to 20 million plus dollar contracts that take them into their mid 30s they regretted it with Howard and fans will be hating it 6-7 years from now with Harper. He has chronic back issues written all over him with how hard he swings.

Also was very charitable for the school district and area athletics
