I watched a show on Motor Trend TV last weekend where they were upgrading a 4Runner and added brackets in each back window in cargo area that took Molle equipment. They were able to store recovery cables, first air packs and others items that needed quick access.
perhaps they are different with different brand RTT's. I have a Roofnest, and I did NOT have to do all that. I did one strut at a time, and did not remove any fabric. One strut should be plenty to hold the roof in place for you to put the stronger strut on the missing side. Well, live and learn.
