I remember your other room tour as well. Displaying your statues is as important if not more important than the pieces you have in your collection. Love how you display these wonderful pieces of art.
Thing of beauty. Always nice to see a collector at your level take the time to display these pieces of art the way they should be. We've talked about doing a tour video for years. I had a vision years back, (it of course evolved over time), of how I wanted our studios to be laid out. Always "Just waiting for "X" to tie it all together and we will film. Then of course the paranoia can set it :) Make sure you "get lost" admiring what you have often. I get hung up on that next piece too often and have to sit back and remind myself to appreciate what we have along the way and not the "end picture in my mind".
For some reason I'm really taken with the She Hulk statue. Something about it that stands out for me. If I could have any statue in your collection I would definitely say She Hulk.
Though I am not a collector myself but I like your setup and you keeping the curtain be drawn all day to avoid sunlight, everything is so orderly displayed. Love your display cabinet with soft lighting. Amongst all, the Magneto and Dr Doom are the most impressive.
Love the Galactus and the Dr. Doom on the throne. That Silver Surfer swirled around his arm just made it so much cooler but out of them all that Magneto is everything!
Such a classy collection! And I don't know why?! One half of your stuff I own too and the other half is not really my cup of tea but I'm pretty sure I have watched this video at least 10-15 times since you uploaded it! Huge congrats mate, one of the best room tour vids on YT! An update maybe?
Thanks for your video Richard. You was one of the youtubers for me who's inspired my collection. GL in your new job and life. Hope we see you here again sometimes.
Aloha, idk if I just missed it in the video but, what are the shelves called housing your 1/4 pieces? Those black shelves with Sentinel, Storm, Dark Phoenix, Apocalypse and such... Mahalo for your vid! Love your work!!!
My Friend I just subscribed to your channel because your collection is truly a work of art. You own your own MUSEUM!!! TRULY A AWESOME DISPLAY OF YOUR PASSION!!!
Love your collection. How do you keep them clean today? I find dust builds quickly, but I’m in an apartment, working from home in same office with computer equipment. Do I get rid of the computer gear?
I switched to acrylic doors on my shelves since. The dust was gathering too fast and too often. Totally worth it. Not cheap though. Probably $30 per shelf for a custom acrylic cut.
Butttornado! After watching nearly every statue room tour on youtube, I can truthfully say that your collection & display tour is by far my favorite! I've watched this video more times than I'd like to admit! You understand that these pieces need space to breath, and things get lost in clutter. Less=more. Also, I couldn't agree more that statues should not be displayed too low or too high, especially too low! Your video actually played a big role in inspiring me to start collecting 1/4 scale Marvel pieces...not sure I want to thank you for that, just yet- I'm still wrestling with that mental barrier of "Why am I spending thousands of dollars on this nostalgia bukkake?!?" Anyway, thanks for sharing your beautiful collection, and the outstanding, well commentated tour! I truly hope hope to see you do another one someday, because in my opinion, you're the best at it!
tom hardy dude! That seriously means a lot man! I put a lot of love and care into this collection and the display means more then the statues themselves lol. I look forward to seeing you setup!
I can tell you put a lot of love into it, but you've got really good taste in what you're doing as well...I think that's what keeps me coming back to this vid. You mentioned you're an artist and that you actually work for Sideshow (as of 2018 anyway), are you a painter? I'd be interested to see some of what you do! I'm an artist too, btw, are you on the Instagrams? Thanks for replying to my comment!
@@butttornadosstatuecollecti1618 I do sandblasted wood bass-reliefs, these days. Just checked out your IG, beyond impressed! Left a more in depth comment in your messages there. Great to see what you do!
This is my first time watching all of the these statue collections and this guy here talks like a reseller, everything is about money to him, dope collection and dope all around room.and that thanos is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for share your awesome collecction !!! About the Galactus statue, is there no problem to put It over a Detolf? Is 12kg....heavy one. Cheers Bro.
I'm so jealous. Every single one of these statues look absolutely amazing! I hope one day I can save up enough money to get my first statue. Maybe Christmas will be good to me this year.
Thanks so much. Only advice can give is start slow and go to Sideshow's website and buy direct. Best customer service and prices. There's some great stuff coming out next year :)
So glad u made another tour, & it’s phenomenal! Been collecting awhile, so this is the 3rd vid of yours, & def has evolved beautifully with no over kill of clutter from having to much. Really appreciate taking the time, & effort to share. I always say I am, but never do😆 Congratulations also for being a part of Sideshow. A company that will always have a place on my heart from my Big Chap Maquette, Alien Warrior Maquette, Venom, & Carnage Comiquettes with my back in Black spidey I can never part with 😅 Thanks bro 👊
austin lemaster thanks man! Yeah sideshow is a dream job. And it’s amazing to be able to have all we grew up with as kids now as giant fricking statues!
Fantastic collection, well displayed and very well described, unfortunately I see so many collector videos on youtube with amazing, rare, beautiful pieces but so poor;y displayed in some really unappealing environments. I think one thing that gets strongly overlooked in this hobby is not just the collection or focus, But the care, cleaning and more importantly where and how you display these beautiful works of art . I see everything from very cheap dollar store shelving to improper lighting and poor placement. So i have to give two thumbs up to the amount of time and effort dedicated to showcasing your collection, im more of a star wars, not marvel but none the less I can appreciate this on every level!!!
Very kind words! Yeah I agree that display is 75% of the hobby. It really elevates the statues. Its easy to make a $500 collectible look like a cheap toy if not displayed correctly. Thanks again!
I just pre-ordered my first statue from sideshow! I pre-ordered an Aquaman statue from the movie, Jason Momoa is a BA! So I proudly decided to pre-order my first statue of Jason as Aquaman. Im sooo excited to start my collection. Hopefully one day I'll get to a level you are at. Love your collection!
Sweet collection, thank you for sharing. All of them look great, my favs are the Apocalypse, Bane, Galactus, the deadpool bust, sentinel, Venom & Carnage. I like your layout too, really nicely done.
This is seriously motivating to me. I personally collect a lot of funko pop figures as well as statues I’ve been trying to find ways to display them properly when I finally have a place of my own with my gf who also collects
Really enjoyed the tour! Of course liked all the statues but the Wizard issues really took me back! I wish I still had all my back-issues for nostalgia reasons as well. Also liked the custom Magneto that you are working on with your Wife! Really nice!
I dont know what it is, but its like the floor accents the statues, if the floor was a pale wood, i wouldnt be as impressed, but the light shines like its a museum. Beautiful...and the statues are great too
I’m Very new to collectable statues, I’ve only known about them for two months now and I have yet to get my first statue. I know about sideshow and love the new xeno coming out but are there other companies or makers that make statues like fallout 3/4, Red dead redemption 1/2 and my favourite Sinestro. I’m not knowledgeable in this type of area
So kind thank you! The shelves have a capacity of around 50 lbs. The issue would come from bowing in the wood but the glass I have on top is .25 inch thick. Its definitely strong enough. Worst case is if the brackets gave out...
FANTASTIC COLLECTION! Very impressive. It makes my Hot Toys collection look ultra dinky by comparison. Very nice set up. I don't think you like Hellboy though so, I didn't really see much of that in your collection. LOL.
Butttornado's Statue Collection and Review I collected Wizard as well, and unfortunately, my entire collection got destroyed. I'm still bummed about that, but thank God for Ebay. Dude was selling his entire 34 collection of wizard magazines and i bought them. Great video btw.
Hello, I've done my research for those IKEA shelves & was wondering if those shelves for your PAX are called KOMPLEMENT or you've did a custom piece for it. I'm worried the statues may be too heavy for the IKEA KOMPLEMENT shelves.
Scottflix hey man! So it depends on the width of the shelves. The widest one definitely needs extra support. I have extra brackets screwed in to support the shelf on the sides then the mirrors I use are very thick so the provide the strength so they don’t bend in the center from the weight.
@@butttornadosstatuecollecti1618 Fantastic, thank you for sharing how you build those cabinets as I'm in the midst of deciding how I want my shelves to look like and needed to know how are the shelves going to support the weight.
I beg to disagree Julio. To me, the mask looks like...loose on the face, and Deadpool is not like that. Details in this bust look amazing, but that other detail is the only reason I won't get it.
Awesome Display, and many Great statues in one place. I do recommend you consider the XM storm as another XM piece and i think it will fit perfectly in your collection.
