একটা সময় সৃজিত মুখার্জীর সিনেমার খুব বড়ো ভক্ত ছিলাম , কিন্ত্ত বিগত কয়েক বছরের ওনার বেশীরভাগ কাজই আমার ভালো লাগেনি । তাই উনি 12 Angry Men এর রিমেক বানাচ্ছেন শুনে 13th Angry Man টা আমিই হয়েছিলাম। এমনকি টিজারের thumbnail টা সামনে দেখেও কয়েক সেকেন্ড ধরে ভাবছিলাম click করবো কিনা। শেষ মেষ ক্লিক করলাম এবং সত্যি কথা বলতে বেশ ভালও লাগলো। আসা করছি ছবি টাও আমার আশঙ্কা মিথ্যে প্রমাণিত করবে ,যেমন টিজার টা করেছে।

The association of the characters with zodiac signs, collapsing of the walls, change of backdrops, the mysterious usage of a christmas carol as the score are marvelous and is making the film surreal. Really excited to know how they present the plot as they have already addressed the fact that the jury system in Indian judiciary has been abolished in 1973. In short: Srijit da is back with a bang!

Ek Rua Huwa Faisla (1986) is a milestone movie in Hindi Art cinema with remarkable performances by two most under appreciated actors - Pankaj Kapoor and KK Raina. If you watch it today you might even think that it was clairvoyant. In any case, this Bengali adaptation by Srijit Mukherjee looks to have not left any stone unturned and tapped pretty much all the best actors in business currently. Hope the script and direction match up to the cast. This has the potential to become another milestone and the best movie of 2025. Kudos to Srijit Mukherjee for picking it up.

Ek ruka hua faisla এইমাত্র দেখলাম। দারুণ সিনেমা। এই ফিল্মটা দেখার পর "সত্যি বলে সত্যি কিছু নেই" দেখার ইচ্ছে আরো বেড়ে গেল। তবে আমার মনে হয় সৃজিত বাবু বহু দৃশ্য তো বটেই, ক্লাইম্যাক্সটা পুরোপুরি চেঞ্জ করবেন, নিজের স্টাইলে।
