Thank you taking the time to illustrate. Mine works differently. Reboot did not auto populate the serial number nor did it ask for my email for registration. Had to update SW 1 build at a time or it would throw and runtime error. Did not see the 'updating device" message after hitting the back button. After all that, "Many functions are not supported by my vehicle" Or " " Not support on this vehicle" all with bad gramma on the device and in the instructions. Low confidence using this product. Many other options out there. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but hope others are satisfied I used the POR V2.0, drive a 997. not the BMW. BTW Support is 100% useless.

Is this the same thing as living the SD card inside the scanner when doing the update?. UPDATE: Never mind I figured it out. I used the dongle key put the SD card inside. It did not like the F drive. I moved it to the E drive and bingo it did the update and firmware.
Can you help me with this problem? I connected it with a Micro USB cable to my computer and the Serial Number was not added so I had to type it. but the result is "SN not existed!"

so when you freed up space by unchecking spanish, french etc in the language types of the service tool being updated..Is the update applying all the listed items which it shows as available to update the V2.0 system ?
Is there any updated software for the V2.0 model scanning tool which would allow for the user to have more access to other functions otherwise not functional for use ?
Things always look simple when you know product and can explain as well as you do. I've (after 10 attempts) been able to get latest versions on the mini chip but on get error "failure to operate firmware files" now. Online tech support was great (provided a better link to get files to mini sd card) but have disappeared now. Is this fixable or time to return it? Thanks for any views
You don't show ho to get into the update start page you went into a link ate the top of your page thes nothing in diagnostic world page that takes you to the update the tool
Why bother? A piece of junk, after upgrade is still a piece of junk!! Zer Support, cannot connect to either of my Jags yet the factory unit has no problem! These things are a rip-off, total junk!!
