    The thing that strikes me about many of these early songs is how driving the tempo is. For all the inscrutability of the lyrics, the brisk pace keeps it on the side of pop, and away from the pitfalls of art-rock self-indulgence. There are so many great songs from their last five albums, but without Berry as their timekeeper, the tempos were often far too sluggish.

      @misisipimike8020 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Put the money into education and health care not the military. I guess prices have gone up since 1987.

      I wish it was that easy, we would all be speaking Chinese by now if we put all that money into education for the last 30 years which would be what it would likely take to get the underserved the education they deserve. At least they would learn to speak Chinese well!

      Not into education, but into more public and social services for the homeless. People are so heartless towards homeless just because they arent "clean" but think about it how can they possibly be clean without homes? In the end they are still human beings just like everyone else. And to be mean and ridicule them is just not right nor nice.

    I would love to here your take on any of the first three R.E.M. albums. Michael Stipe has always said he was using his voice as an instrument. Fall on Me, Pretty Persuasion, or Life and How to Live It would be good study.
