Three warm days in a row . . . . ya mad! Hahahah. Birds would have loved that water though. Great images from your efforts.
Thanks Denise, yes, we put ourselves through some discomfort for our craft that is for sure. Cheers, Duade
Love this .Amazing.
Thanks Laxman, Cheers, Duade
All your videos are just amazing !!!!!!!
Thanks Ray, I appreciate the feedback, Cheers, Duade
I live in Canada, about 100 miles north of Ottawa, and often sit in my blind in January at -10 to 20C. A different sort of endurance. I don't think I could handle 42 C though. Great work!
Thanks Frank, -10 sounds very cold, I guess we adapt to our surroundings. The birds make it worthwhile though. Cheers, Duade
Like your TH-cams. Live in South Central Texas. Similar climate, but no kangaroos. Am shooting birds using R6 with RF800f8, RF100-500 , RF 1.4 extender. Had similar issue with a card that had been used with the R6 and with a RP. Canon Pro-Rep recommended to never use cards between different Canon models without using this formatting procedure:. Format cards with your COMPUTER then format card with the CAMERA you plan to use. That should clean up your cards.
Thanks Don, I appreciate the advice. Cheers, Duade
super
Thank you, Cheers, Duade
Fantastic!
Thanks Bo, Cheers, Duade
Super
Thanks Tony
Thank you for the video, and especially labelling the birds. Being able to name the birds adds quite a bit of interest.
G'day Arthur, my pleasure, we have a lot of nice birds down here. Cheers, Duade 👍
wonderful passion and hard work Thank you for sharing
My pleasure, thanks for watching, Cheers, Duade
Might try setting up perch in garden, Eastern Spinebills seem to visit often. Thanks for tips.
Good luck, great birds to have visit. Cheers, Duade

Dear sir duade, I am a 13 year old wildlife photographer and i just discovered your youtube channel. I am totally inspired by you and i absolutely love your video's!
Keep up the great work!
G'day Joris, great to hear you are into photography at such a young age. Happy birding. Cheers, Duade 👍

Great video as all ways.
THanks John, Cheers, Duade
Awesome shots !
Thanks Arturo, Cheers, Duade
Just a fantastic video Duade.
Thanks Athena, I appreciate the feedback. Cheers, Duade 👍
All your photos are well laid out and educational. Even though I have been photographing birds for years now here in south Texas, I always learn something new and I have incorporated them into my field photography and my editing process.
I have just gotten the new Canon R7 (previous and still owned cameras: 7D Mark 2, 5D Mark 4, and R5). I am presently shooting with the Sigma 150-600 and based on your recommendations, I am presently saving for the Canon 100-500 RF lens.
Thanks again and I look forward to more bird photography adventures and learning tips!
Thanks for the support Allen, sounds like you have lots of experience and have used all the same cameras as I have during my journey. Good luck saving for the 100-500. Cheers, Duade
Bummer about the SD card glitch at the worst time. Lucky you come through with a perfect king fisher shot!
Thanks
great videos. enjoy the set up and the the raw vs edit image. thanks
G'day David, it is my pleasure, Cheers, Duade
Extra great video :) I liked the magpie.
Thanks Jan, yes, I was also happy with that one. Cheers, Duade 👍
Fairy Wren is so cute well done
G'day Farhat, yes they sure are, a real pleasure to have around. Cheers, Duade 👍
great video indeed, very inspiring.
Thank you, we currently have the opposite weather at the moment with ice on the windscreen and very wet. Cheers, Duade
Sir what a emotional and difficult b irritating situation rd 🐦 photoshoot memory card error 😱 tour so tired sir that hungry passion of bird 🐦 photography 👏👏👏👏👏👏 👍👍👍👍
Thankfully I have replaced the card and have not had the same issues again. Cheers, Duade
When I read the thumbnail, I thought I read that you shot at f/107 😆 great set of photos.
Thanks Daniel, now that would be a very narrow aperture and you would need a lot of light lol. Cheers, Duade 👍
Same thoughts :D I was like what the...? :D
Just watched this again, lost count of how many times now. This is still one of my favourite videos.
Good work. Thank for your tips.
my pleasure, Cheers, Duade
so love the "out-takes" even second time around!
Thanks Roger, they do make me smile also, Cheers, Duade
Found your channel on the trending page!
and welcome, I hope you enjoy our amazing birds, Cheers, Duade
I love seeing the native birds there! I’m in the USA and it’s great to see all the different species, of course the kangaroo is also cool; I love the little joey by itself! Keep the excellent videos and photography coming!
:Gday: I'm glad you enjoyed it, Cheers, Duade
Thanks for the video. Amazing as always!
Thanks Alessandra, it's my pleasure, Cheers, Duade 👍
Love the clarity of pics and New information learnt :)
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, Duade 👍
Thanks a lot for yet another great video and for sitting for so many scorching hot hours under that sweat bag. I love the wren and the common bronzewing.
Thank you, I too like those shots, yes it was hot but totally worth it. Cheers, Duade
Great video. Great ISO performance it seems. Great photos. Thanks!!!!
Thanks Rui, yes it performed very well in these conditions, Cheers, Duade
Wow, that was the best one yet! Gosh you really work at it! 100 degrees! I love the Superb Fairy Wren.
Thanks Nigel, yes, the Fairy-wren turned out well, such little cuties. Cheers, Duade 👍
Hi Duade, Just watched this video again for what must be the 10th or 11th time, I'd love to see more videos like this ;) . I'll be visiting south Victoria in Oct/Nov from the UK and hope to see a least some of the amazing birds you have shared with your viewers of the past few years, all the best Jason
Thanks, Duane. One of the fun things about your videos is seeing different birds than here in the US. Superb Fairy Wren and Sacred Kingfisher are not only beautiful, they have great names, as well. The kangaroos where a great bonus.
Thanks Woody, yes, we are very lucky with our birds. I also love to see the Kangaroos. Cheers, Duade 👍
What a great video! You deserved those great shots for the effort you put in :)
I absolutely love (and appreciate the effort it takes to do) your RAW file to finished photo edits...amazing and informative.
, yes it is time consuming but a great learning tool for others, Cheers, Duade
Hello sir , Tomas here from Ireland. gooosh you have some backyard !! Love the content
Tomas, thanks, I am very fortunate to have the backyard I do. Cheers, Duade
I like the way that you show how you've set up the shot, perches blinds etc., gives us good tips on how simple this can be giving us confidence to have a go. Thanks
Alan, I'm happy you found the video helpful, Cheers, Duade
Great birds down under!
It's now 20 years ago I had the chance to observe and shoot (slides)
Great shots, thanks for sharing!
Peter, yes, we have amazing birds, I am sure your slides bring you a lot of great memories. Cheers, Duade
Bloody fantastic, m8!... love the setups. Miss Aussie bird life... especially the lorikeets in the grevillea and black palm cockies... kookaburras are good too when they hear a good joke. But best memories are the Morning wake up call of Aussie Magpies. Thanks for the memories. I went walkabout and ended up in SoCal USA.
John, yes, we have some stunning birds down here. Would love some shots of a Palm Cockatoo though. Cheers, Duade
Really enjoy watching your videos on how you stage branches etc to attract the birds. Very helpful, and your presentation of your techniques and post-processing workflows in previous videos are very informative. This video makes me miss the Aussie summers, for sure.
Great to hear Trav and thank you for the support. We are having some nice weather at the moment that is for sure. Cheers, Duade
Really enjoyed this episode, thank you!
Thanks Verlene, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, Duade 👍
Great video. I really enjoy how you show the raw file and superimposed the final photos. Beautiful shots.
it is my pleasure, it is a great learning tool and I am happy to share. Cheers, Duade
terrific video, thanks for taking the time to demonstrate your techniques!
G'day Aytch, my pleasure, Cheers, Duade 👍
Fantastic review again.... I long for summer being in Sweden... Just got my R6 after replacing the EOSR. I will use it with the 100-400 + the converter 1x4.... We'll se the result... Thank you again for this fantastic experience....
Daniel, it is my pleasure, good luck with the R6, Cheers, Duade
Once again, I enjoyed so much watching such relaxing and beautiful footages. Thanks for sharing!..
Mustafa, my pleasure, Cheers, Duade
Wow, Duade wonderful captures of birds and wildlife. So glad I subscribed to your channel as I have been enjoying bird photography with my new R6. You have some really well produced videos that must have taken a lot of planning and preparation. It is great to see you in the field on how you setup and get ready to photo the really wide variety of animals.
G'day Tom, thank you for your lovely comment, yes, it does take a lot of time to plan, film and edit these videos. I'm glad people are finding them helpful and enjoyable. Cheers, Duade 👍
A cracking video and kudos for enduring the heat 3 days running. Glad you got the kingfisher shot given your tech issues - it was magnificent. I love how the video shots the AF at work - they appear to have nailed the animal feature. Keep up the great work, Duade
Craig, yes, I was happy to get the shot after the effort. Yes, once the eye af locks on it is incredible. Cheers, Duade
I really enjoyed this video. Showed how much work you have to do to get the shots....and on the fourth day the Kingfisher turned up with it's family.
Thanks mate, I appreciate it, yeah I bet a Regent HE also turned up the next day. Cheers, Duade 👍
thank you for naming the birds! great shots, loved the bronzewing and the kingfisher. quite unorthodox of you to shoot at such high ISO compared to most other photographers but it clearly works for you and you get some excellent images!
Gabe, thanks for the comment. I didn't have a lot of light so ISO3200 worked best in this scenario as it still gave me adequate SS to avoid motion blur. The camera also has no issues shooting at 3200 whilst maintaining IQ. Cheers, Duade
Another top presentation Duade. Am amazed at the variety of birds that visit that location. Superb results.
Thanks Richard, yes we are lucky to have the diversity. Cheers, Duade 👍
I like how you show the raw file for comparison to your final image. As always great images.
Andrew, it is my pleasure, Cheers, Duade
Thanks Duade what a marvelous video, I really appreciated it. I am amazed at how the camera can track the eye. I love Sacred Kingfishers, they are lovely little creatures. Full marks for perseverance on a hot day. That is one of the things we have to cope with in Australia. That and the strong light which can be both a negative and a positive.
Thanks Donald, yes, they are a cracking family of birds and I still have so many to photograph which I look forward to. Cheers, Duade 👍
That looked like a lot of fun in spite of the heat Duade. And thanks for sharing the raw image along with the processed one.
Thanks Jack, my pleasure, Cheers, Duade
Another great video, thanks Duade! Like others, it’s great to see your RAW files and then your processed images. I’ve not done a set up yet but plan to and your tips are really helpful. I shoot with an R5 and only use a CF Express card. This was a reminder I really should get a new SD card and keep in the camera as a backup. I haven’t had any problem with the CF card but there’s always a first and don’t want that happening at the wrong time. Thanks again for all the content!
G'day Ricky, my pleasure, it's a great learning tool and I'm happy to share. Yes, a good idea to have the SD card just in case. Cheers, Duade 👍
Love this kind of content mate. So peaceful to be able to watch this on the days that you just can't make it out in the field. Very cozy vibes.
Sitting here in cold Wisconsin January (2022), admiring Victoria wildlife. Maybe I will head to WI river soon for eagles, they love the free water below dam once all lakes are frozen. I have a canon 500 mm and 1.4 telex for my 7dmarkII, working on convincing myself to spend $2500 on an r6. Love Victoria and the rest of Australia I;'ve visitied (not enough), love the wildlife, even enjoy the accent mate! Have a cabin on a lake up north with Kingfishers, maybe I need to spend some time concentrating on them, they are cool beyond measure.
Thanks for the comment, yes it can get bloody hot down here as you know, sounds like you have a great kit and plenty of reach with the 7D. I would hold on the R6 until we know what is happening with the R7, if they do release an APSC RF mount mirrorless it could be perfect for your needs. Have fun with the eagles and kingfishers. Cheers, Duade
Great video. Thank you for the bird identification and before after crop and edit. It's very useful to have the bird named ... from UK
G'day Caroline, my pleasure, I'm glad it's helpful. Cheers, Duade 👍
Great video! Great to see the subtle edits as well that just make the photos really come to life 👍👍👍
Thanks Kai, yes, processing does bring the photos to life that is for sure. Cheers, Duade
What a commitment ! Cheers . Help me learn a lot . Thanks for doing it
G'day Qasim, my pleasure, Cheers, Duade 👍
How many species you have there that are soooooo beautiful, Each one is amazing! From the Kangaroo to the smaller Warbler, it's just delicious to watch.
Thanks Daniela, yes, we are very lucky, Cheers, Duade
I just love how well you explain and also how you motivates those who might feel discouraged about their camera gear. I've learned how youvmanages to take those beautiful photos of the smaller birds. Keep doing the good work all the way from Pretoria South Africa.
Matshete, I appreciate the feedback, Cheers, Duade
Another beautiful video and photos...it's amazing to see your hard work..in every outing...
Keep the good work...it's inspiration for me...
Thanks Ashwath, good luck, Cheers, Duade 👍
Pekné video...👌👌👌
Thank you, Cheers, Duade 👍
Duade, I’m really digging your “habitat shots”. They look and feel authentic and the bird somehow is more stunning in its chaotic but valid setting. My R5 was freezing occasionally but no issues since the latest firmware update. 👍🏻
G'day, great to hear, thanks for the feedback, Cheers, Duade 👍
Great video, really enjoyed! I got my first camera a few weeks ago and im on a budget so I got the Nikon P1000. The image quality is acceptable but there isn't much room to crop with 16MP, but it makes up for it in zoom, it does make it hard having to frame then and there knowing your not going to crop, but its so much fun. Sometimes I havnt even taken a photo but just was in another world watching them close up!
Thanks Kurtis, congrats on the camera, yes, birding is often more about the experience than the photo. Cheers, Duade
Loved it, felt like we joined the session with you out there, thanks for sharing the experience 👍
Thanks Surendra, my pleasure, Cheers, Duade 👍.
superb video, thanks for given good ideas for using tree branches too !!
Another great video Duade sorry about your bad luck.
Thanks Mike, it ended up being a faulty card in the end. Cheers, Duade 👍
Hi Duade, great video, thank you, that eye detect focus looks amazing! I haven't read thru all comments, but I did have issues with Sandisk cards I bought from E.Bay. They were duds-showed error message occasionally, got them tested and the capacity and write speeds were a fraction of what was specified. Got a refund from E.bay after some back and forth messaging to the seller. You can do the check on your home p.c. Its possible that your card has low write speed an is buffering. Buy local from trusted source, even though likely to be 3 x price.
Thanks Guy, I appreciate the feedback, sorry to hear you had some issues. Cheers, Duade 👍
I loved this video. Wonderful images and you are a gifted story teller. What is so enjoyable is that it is a realistic "day in the life" presentation of any wildlife photographer. A bit of luck is helpful, but a measure of effort, patience and skill is absolutely required. It so reassuring to realize someone else is having game not show up and gear malfunctioning, all while sitting quietly in camo at daybreak needing to answer the call of nature.
Thanks mate, yes, it is a lot of fun but a lot of hours are put in to get the shots. Cheers, Duade
Thanks Duade!!
G'day Miguel, my pleasure, Cheers, Duade 👍
Excellent work sir. Love the white browed babbler
Thanks Karthick, cheers, Duade
Just getting into bird photography, inspired by this channel. Absolutely stunning pictures you get, and always informative and detailed!
Charlie, I'm glad to hear you are getting into bird photography, it is a challenge but very rewarding. Cheers, Duade
Very informative video and beautiful photos! Thank you so much for including RAW images! For beginners to photography, it's crucial to get the idea of how big a part does editing play, so that they don't get discouraged by the results they get in the field.
G'day Dariusz, yes, it is a great learning tool to see the RAW file as processing plays a big part in the digital workflow. Cheers, Duade 👍
Enjoyed the video! You got some great shots through it all.
"Blind devotion!" springs to mind Duade awesome shot ! Great set up amazing result 👍😍
Yes, that would have been a great title, Cheers, Duade
The other thing that may have caused the camera to crash was the heat (the body and/or the battery overheating). Few cameras can cope with 40 degree C heat for extended periods. It may have been able to cool down enough after the crash. In any case the camera is being used in extreme conditions.
Thanks Michael, they are hot conditions for sure and perhaps that is a factor, however the camera alerts you via an icon if it starts getting hot and it was not displaying this when it crashed. I will continue using SanDisk for now and see if it happens again. Cheers, Duade 👍
Great video, Duade. I am fairly new to your channel but I love how you show the raw images the image after processing. Very inspiring stuff!
Brian, welcome to the channel, I am glad the overlay is helpful. Cheers, Duade
As someone who shoots on an EOS RP, I'm so envious of the eye AF. It's so quick and nails the shots what looks to be 99% of the time. I'm thinking in another year or so when Canon has more options in their R lineup, I might make the switch. Great video as always.
G'day, yes the Eye AF works well when it locks on. Maybe the R7 might be a camera worth upgrading to. Cheers, Duade 👍
Great video! I admire your dedication. Those kind of temps are uncommon here but we do get high 90s with high humidity. When that happens I retreat to the indoors. I don't do well with heat. 7:30 am here and 35 f with snow expected. Not much but maybe enough to get a few nice shots at the feeders. Take care in that heat.
Thanks Guy, I'm not a big fan of the heat either, but I'm willing to put up with it for some nice shots. Good luck at your feeder, Cheers, Duade 👍
Terrific insight into R6 capabilty and your Australian birds
Thanks James, yes, it is performing well so far. Cheers, Duade
Awesome Duade...really enjoyed the bird photos and the kangaroos were a bonus. Really enjoy your channel with all the teaching that you do. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks Cesar, I appreciate the feedback, Cheers, Duade 👍
I shoot Lexar 128 (1667x) cards in my R6 bodies. I've never had a problem with them locking up. But I always format the cards at the beginning of each shoot - and I never delete a file off the card until the next time it gets formatted. The prevents file fragmentation. Most of the time when a card gets corrupted, it is due to fragmentation.
Thanks Scott, I do the same, format in camera and I don't delete on the back of the camera. I think I just got a faulty card. Cheers, Duade
Best bird photography experience content on youtube. Keep up the good work!
You are too kind, thanks for the feedback, Cheers, Duade
Enjoyed the mellow vibes from this video.
That is great to hear, it was fun making it, Cheers, Duade
Excellent Video. Very informative and I love your idea of setting up the scene. I often visit similar dry places and will try that.
Thanks Hari, good luck, Cheers, Duade 👍
Australia has some ridiculously amazing and colorful birds! Up here in the northern Hemisphere we have very drab birds by comparison. Although you can keep the scorching hot temps!
Yes we sure do, we are very lucky to have the diversity we have. The good thing is I still have lots I haven't seen. Cheers, Duade 👍
Excellent video with nice Ken Burns effect. Thank you for your effort.
Thanks Mike, I had to google Ken Burns effect :-) Yes seems to work well with the large photos which allows you to show nice detail zoomed in. Cheers, Duade
Awesome video
Thank you, Cheers, Duade
