I'm South African. But my mother is from Zambia. I just love seeing all these amazing women from Southern Africa (Zambia, South Africa) break through and make their mark on the football world. Especially with the challenges they face from a young age just trying to play the game, the lack of resources, the lack of exposure, etc compared to most of the nations in the world. She's had an amazing season. Hope she can keep it going for many years to come.
We are so fortunate to have Barbra Banda play in the NWSL, she comes across as a very warm and determined young woman. Thank you both for the interview!
The battle between Barbra and Temwa for the NWSL golden boot is a championship in itself.I'm really rooting for Orlando Pride to be the champion of this tournament.
Barbra was so fantastic last week against my hometown Red Stars. I was amazed at how dangerous and disruptive she was! Congrats and good luck through the playoffs!
Having boxed before, I have to agree with Barbara that boxing training may be the hardest kind of training out there. Growing up in Zambia, I boxed and tried football, and there was no contest. Boxing training was 10x harder.
Hello Sam. A very interesting interview with someone who grew up in a very different place to many of the NWSL players, yet has become a star. I am built like my professional rugby player cousin and my dad boxed in the Royal Navy. I had a punch bag and gloves from being tiny. I knocked him out aged about six, but never wanted to box as I did not like hurting people. It blows my mind that women want to box, but good luck to them. Good luck too to all the semi finalists in NWSL.
She was actually the right candidate for Ballon d'or, if not her it should have been Paralluelo (black Spanish) unfortunately their choice seems to have a racial bias.

Hmm many competition for that. Also, international success comes into play in winning the Balon D Or

she has hands too😂😭😭
”The womens game”
Unless she stop playing for Zambia and play for some country who have a chance at Olympic/World Cup, she will never win Ballon d'Or!
She was born in zambia she doesn't have a choice
