    Beautiful saddle, so glad your someone who fits their saddle to their horse. So many people buy a saddle that fits the rider but is to tight on the horse and destroys their back completely and then wonder why they don't perform. You're setting a great example well done :)

    For a non-synthetic feeling coat shine, get some shine spray for human hair. It's really inexpensive and works amazingly!

    I'm really picky with tack cleaner too! I love effax ledar combi! It's Amazing and after I use the effax ledar basalm. It's AMAZING! It leaves your saddle soft and sticky so it's awesome for no stirrup work! Also I love leather new, Lexol cleaner and conditioner, and even glycerine bars or fiebings saddle soap! But if your trying to bring tack back to life I would recommend oiling it with neadsfoot oil! It's awesome!

    I have to say that is one of the most beautiful saddles I've ever seen, it was worth the wait. You chose wonderful colors on it and a beautiful girth as well. I ride in a treeless saddle that is shaped very much like an english saddle and is Havana in color, it is also very rare and beautiful. I just wanted to applaud you on your saddle choice. Great shopping, well done!

    I work in a tack shop and I hear Effol superstar shine is a great alternative to show sheen. It doesn't give the artificial feel helps give the mane and tail more volume and helps with dry split ends!

  • @jaykneegarner2479
    @jaykneegarner2479 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For a good leather conditioner check out Skidmores leather cream. It smells fantastic! Honey overtones if that makes sence. Dosent leave a residue and will quite litterly kill calluses on your hands when used every day! I actually use it for hand cream when my hands are dry. Its Lanolin and beeswax based with a couple of other ingredients
    As for the showsheen I avoid it as it tends to dry the coat out. I prefer a good coat of conditioner after a bath. And if nessassary I will use lazer sheen. Showsheen is silicone based where as laser sheen is more lanolin based. The lanolin actually conditions the hair unlike the silicone which drys the hair.

    eqyss marigold spray gives a natural smooth shine but u can put it were the saddle goes and your saddle won't slip

    Best way I've found to get a shiny coat is down to feed (a good oil like flax oil) and a tea towel! Honestly, after you've groomed, just before you get on for a show just buff with a towel and it makes them mega shiny! Cheap too! 😊

  • @slickndry
    @slickndry 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    for tack cleaning, I LOVE olive oil. it's cheap and it revives leather really well! you oil it with that, then use a basic leather balm like effol and buff it. try it! find the most organic oil you can

    The tack cleaner that works the best for me is Leather new. It is amazing, it gets off all the dirt and stuff but it also makes tack really shiny and looks new. Its not that expensive either, it depends on where your buying it but where I got it was only like 8 bucks. I totally recommend it!

  • @meredithdresing5717
    @meredithdresing5717 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I adore the Eqyss marigold spray for shine. All natural(and my extremely sensitive horse has no issues with it!!) smells AMAZING, and gets that beautiful shine and softness without feeling slippery. Showsheen is actually a liquid plastic, and I only use it in his tail (due to allergies) very rarely to get it detangled.

    if you dont like the feel maybe try alcohol, i put it in a spray bottle and use it on my horses all the time! it dose't really have any benefit to the coat but it takes up all of the dust and makes them really shiny without that weird feeling! you can use it on the saddle area also!

    • @sophia-no9on

      +Alissa Ricapito if they have a cut it will sting and make them uncomfortable and not want to do very good. at a show this would be especially bad!

    Use EFFAX leather cream soap its the BEST! It doesn't leave any residue or streaks.
    It also helps moisturize and condition your tack. Its pretty much saddle soap and conditioner all in one and doesn't use any water! I swear by it!

  • @horsesrotflol
    @horsesrotflol 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I live by Effax leather cleanser! Keeps the leather soft and supple and adds a nice shine, without leaving any residue like some others I've tried.

  • @erinlyons2395
    @erinlyons2395 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Leaderbalsam from effax bring life back to your tack!! You don't need a lot of it because it's so good, but for "cleaning cleaning" leather new is easy and pretty good. Idk if they have them in Canada??

  • @madelinechandler3240
    @madelinechandler3240 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    To get natural looking shine use gel Cowboy Magic on the mane and tail and a little bit of baby oil on the body. I also spray on water and then brush over that, the water lifts up all the dust and then you flick it off with the brush, when that underlayer of dust is gone, your horse look 100% shinier. It's really helpful

  • @lexiewilley1978

    Fiebings saddle soap works really well. I had a old western saddle that I had found that looked like it had not been cleaned in years and after I used the soap the leather looked new. You should give it a try

  • @sloanb72
    @sloanb72 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    So this is super late, but fyi Fiebing's (i think that's how its spelled?) saddle soap is super cheap and cleans really well. I think it's also a conditioner, but i tend to use another cream conditioner afterwards because it is a soapy consistency.

    Effax Leather Cream soap to clean and Passier Lederbalsam to condition. Honestly, it's the very best for European saddles. They're clean and clear and won't stain your breeches. Plus the Passier helps ALOT if your saddle is slippery. Apply a nice layer, leave on overnight and voila!

  • @Cecilymarie3
    @Cecilymarie3 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    You need to try Absorbine Santa Fe! It's a coat conditioner with vitamin E and SPF 8. It always keeps my horse super clean, soft and shiny! I use it all over on her and never have problems with the saddle area!

    leather new from tractor supply or any feed store works well it is a spray and after you wipe ur tack with it you go over it with a damp rag and then use a dry cloth to dry it

  • @saayyylorr9354
    @saayyylorr9354 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this is so soooooo late but there is an item called saddle soap which you can find at tractor supply and other feed places that cleans leather so well and it also conditions. I cleaned two saddles with it and i still have plenty left. If you haven"t already found anything I hope this helps!
