I lived in Kalgoorlie for 20 years and always went down there at every opportunity. Been in Perth for 7 years now still getting out but this video had me feeling very nostalgic. I'll have to get back one day
Just a thought on corrugations, possibly already mentioned below... Your probably know this, but likely worth mentioning for your less experienced followers that the best action is to lower tyre pressures. which 1) allows the tyres to act as large shock-absorbers, reducing wear on suspension components and markedly softening ride, and 2) helps to maintain tyre-contact with the ground giving better traction and control at speed. Good video dude...
Coconut oil is your friend, you definitely need your better half back with ya before you make a 21 century mistake (don’t worry, I remember making the same mistake before meeting my missus) Totally on board with your change to reduce the use of plastic- legend for doing your bit to keep Australia beautiful 🤩 Cheers SB
Mate, great vid of some of our favourite camp spots. Brought back some terrific memories. While in West Oz, look into doing 'The Holland Track', goes from Hyden to Coolgardie, you'll love it. Happy travels 🍻
Hi Matt, love your channel you inspired us to by a Vision also. It's on order now have to wait. I was wonder what you think of the composting toilet we are not sure which way to go, tossing up between composting or chemical. Any advice you could give would be appreciated.
Hey team that’s epic!! I’m a big fan to be honest might be harder if you had kids but other wise love it so much easier and more sustainable than the chemical toilet
Awesome video - this may be my new favorite Australian TH-cam channel - LOADS of travel vids! Those sand castles look like some sort of insect casts! Some insects use excretions to stabilize the sand grains - erosion of the foredune would expose them. But I’m a biologist in the US, so I could be blowing smoke. Ask a local biologist about them. I’d be curious to hear how they are formed.
My guess is lime in the sand and the rain dribbles down with lime and slightly solidifies. I don't know but I've seen these all around the South West of WA and there is a lot of limestone formations here.
@@Malc664 that’s a good hypothesis! Dissolved CaCO3 would follow bio-channels (plant or animal) and glom onto fines and organics left behind when the organisms die. These would calcify in situ, creating those structures. As the dune eroded, they were exposed.
Mate another ripper of an episode! Can't wait to explore WA myself what a stunning part of the world. Did yas announce the winner for the Maxtrax giveaway yet?
Question. A bit off topic but I’m keen to know what Drone you have and what editing software you use for your uploads. Loving the trip mate. I’m still in the planning stages. 👍😎
Agree Darcy, haven't driven a whole lot on corrugations but I find the softer the tyre the better, seems to me that driving reasonably fast with 40psi just makes the road worse. And look where you are, there's no rush to leave that place.
It’s so awesome to see people exploring my back yard. Christmas tradition for us to head down to masons bay in Esperance
Wow, simply....wow. Beautiful.
Awesome episode Dude. Thanks for the content. See you next week. Safe travels.
Hope there a YBS or shorehawk colab coming up soon along the WA coastline hike !
Keep it up Matty !
Great Video, love watching the adventures
Bloody awesome Ep Matt well done. Luv the Ep’s when they are in this format, no need to have flashy editing all the time. Well done mate 👍.

@@madeinjapanoverland1843 That makes some sense. Will have to try contact a local scientist for an answer.
Those things are calcified tree roots,
Hooked on these toasties 👍
Love the episodes Matt. Sorry if it’s been asked and answered before but what drone are you using? Loving the footage
glad you're enjoying mate! mavic air 2s is the weapon of choice for the solo trips
It’s petrified timber. They’re just old trees those sandcastles haha
True that’s wild cheers
with the corro, have ya found that dropping the tyre pressures down further? I totally agree there is a sweet spot for each driver/vehicle
yeah 100% mate tyre pressures play a big role too
Mate another ripper of an episode! Can't wait to explore WA myself what a stunning part of the world. Did yas announce the winner for the Maxtrax giveaway yet?
Awesome! You seriously need a dog though!
Those tube things are calcified tree roots.
thanks for the tip mate! such odd formations!
Never have any maps on hema for WA.
Hey brother what program do you use to edit drone footage love the truck setup and what brand is the RTT

This is a prototype coming soon 🤙
@@theexplorelife nice!!! I’ll keep an eye out for it

What tyre pressure do you run on those corrugated roads.

Locals down there call spanner water
Its that cold it tightens your nuts
What size batteries have you got in the 79?
Theres a couple different setups in the rig. Check out the 79 build videos for more details

Is u can't enjoy esperance and the South Coast you have problems. Best beaches in aus. Prove me wrong
Sorry but that was the worst advise for corrugations mate.
Agree Darcy, haven't driven a whole lot on corrugations but I find the softer the tyre the better, seems to me that driving reasonably fast with 40psi just makes the road worse. And look where you are, there's no rush to leave that place.
Failed to mention dropping tyre pressure. I always lower my pressure when on dirt roads especially corrugated roads.
@@theexplorelife yeah tyre pressure. But also driving to conditions that ever change
A lot of people take your word on these topics
Ease up on the 4 letter words. Kids watch your stuff mate.
Don’t watch it
They going to hear much worse at school.. Jog on
Will work on it mate 🤙 cheers
