Knackered is a fun word and as an American, on the eve of the Presidential election, I'm absolutely knackered. The lighting of the incense was a bit like starting a meditation ritual, soothing and reminding you to stay in the moment. Is the free racoon class available to current students? I have previously purchased and enjoyed two LifeBooks, and two Kaleidoscopes and purchased A Year of Light three weeks ago.
I understand you feeling knackered, times are not for the faint of heart! Yes it is available to you too, you'll need to click on the link and then submit your email and you'll get details sent to you! 😊
Genuine thought "Oh shit, I'm not on your newsletter, I haven't seen one in ages!" .... I LITERALLY am watching this video because of your latest newsletter lol
I read ACOTAR and the second one too. The first one kind of rubbed me the wrong way (NO NOT LIKE THAT! Sheesh), but I thought the second one was muuuuch better and the smut was mucho 🌶🌶🌶. I'm reading some contemporary fiction at the moment as a palate cleanser haha, but I think I'll pick up the third book soon. Have you read any of those? I did a reading vlog a while back after my summer holiday, if you're interested let me know and I'll send you the link!
Yes please, a list of all the words we love 😁 Starting with quizzical 🎉😁💕💜 Edit: favourite word, or at least one of them - gloaming 😍 You totes crack me up, Tam 😁💖
Hallo, darling! LOVE that we share a love of words. I am grammar and word nerd! I adore to include words and poetry in my paintings. So lovely to see your beautiful face! The wee owl does look french. Zut alors!! LOL Any day that you post a vid is a bonny day indeed. Some of my fave words: toothsome, pedantic, kumquat, and tiddly! Ha! (I sound like Raold Dahl - adore his made up wonderfulness!) Thank you for bringing us such an amazing video, darling Tam. So, SO happy that you are in the world! I also enjoyed seeing the puppers :) Much love and bless xoxoxo
Love watching you bring the owls to life ……….. they transform so quickly from a pencil drawing to a pop off the page owl, just beautiful. Thank You for sharing your talent 🥰🤩❤️❤️
Fabulous watching you work, splashing that color on! Love your spirit and kind heart. My fave word, since our Hawaiian trip many years ago, is "Humuhumunukunukuapua'a"- state fish of Hawaii, the trigger fish. I believe the guide said at the time it is the longest word in the English language (excluding chemicals), but I'm not sure. I also like "onomatopoeia" and many others.
If you like fantasy combined with a glimpse of thriller, I would recommend the books of Thomas Oldeheuvelt. He is a Dutch writer and his books are translated in several languages. For a start I would read his book November and then the book hex. He did write more books.
I love your style of art and have been watching you for a while. I love the dolls you showed. They are so lovely. I have been and doll maker for years and painting for a long, long time. I do admire your work. My word is happy this week.
oooh Lorna, thank you so much!! ♥♥♥ your comment means a lot to me! One of the dolls was by me (with breathe on it) the other one is by amazing artist Danita Art! 😊 I'm glad to read your week is happy!
That’s not the origins of mixed media. Mixed media was going long before that even became a thing and that is only in the last 20 years. I was working in mixed media in the 90 at art college and university and many of my contemporaries were too. However, even that wasn’t the inception. It can b traced back to the ancient Egyptians but it really kicked off as an entity with Braque and Picasso in the early part of the 20th century.
Ahh Julia, yes of course mixed media in all its forms has been around since forever! Thanks for adding this on. I really should've added that I'm more referring to the more modern (and I feel somewhat 'organic') mixed media folk art/ art journalling that has emerged in the last 15 years in my community. I went to art school myself and the lessons taught there were very singular media focused; either oils, or acrylics etc and I didn't see much encouragement of including other media or exploring that. Then when the internet came around, there were a lot of 'art dabblers' just 'messing around' and a type of mixed media that I don't associate with formal schooling emerged and that's what I was trying to describe/ explain! In any case; of course 'formal' mixed media has been around forever! x
@ oh wow that is not my experience of art college at all. It is very free and experimental. They teach the basics including mixed media how to get different effects from using different media together. Obv there'll b courses who r old school if that's your thing but I never heard of any when I was going through the perspectives. The freer and more experimental inc with media brought u the best marks. I find what has happened with the internet is that it has skewed views and changed things. Often turning things upside down lol. The internet is through a lens chosen by the creator and is only a small window on reality not the full picture.
It’s been a rough week and your understanding and kindness made me cry (good tears). Thank you!
oh sweet Margie! sending you a big hug! ❤🌟💕

Yess the variety of textures and marks is the mixed media crack that keeps me coming back and makes it so perfect for FULL expression for me!
