This is exactly what I intend to do to this mower - this is my off season project. Simple design - looking forward to seeing some footage of that bad boy once the grass is growing again
This is great! I am actually in the process of doing this to my Fiskars, however, I’m having a heck of a time getting the rear/large sprocket off. I had zero issues with the small sprocket on the reel, but the large just won’t loosen. Any suggestions? My mower is in great shape, and I’ve seen other posts saying the large sprocket is much tougher to remove than the smaller one, but nothing has worked for me yet. Any advice is much appreciated!
As I recall I used a socket with an Allen wrench adapter. I didn't take it off at first and other than banging my shin on it, it didn't affect anything.
@@texaswheelock Thank you for responding! I was actually able to finally get it off! I ended up using some heat (hair dryer) to heat it and let it cool a few times, which allowed it to break up what ended up being a bit of rust/corrosion and I borrow a neighbors’ long Allen wrench that gave me a bit more leverage and finally got it off! Happy/proud to say I’ve completed the entire build/conversion and mowed a couple times already with it and it’s cutting quite well and also leaving some great stripes as I also added some harbor freight wheels to the rear axle!
@@texaswheelock Can I ask where and what roller you got? I’m having difficulty finding what people use and the sizing, since I’m used to rotary mowers and never dealt with rollers before

I may have to do this plan to add a fat roller to the front and a gang of wheels to the rear like another youtuber did. Thanks for the inspiration.
Not bad 👍🏾
Thanks
Nice. Looking to do this to my Fiskars.
Could you do this with 18v drill battery?
I would recommend using two 18v to give you 36V. I have seen that done a few times
Is the motor mount homemade?
It was custom fabricated, yes. I was lucky I had a buddy who did it for trade. I have not seen a mass produced one.
Is that controller specifically for 40v or could you also use a 60v battery?
Looking at the Amazon listing, it maxes at 48V. I would not use 60.

No chain guard?? If that chain ever broke, it would go flying
I did similar to mine. Have you thought about modifying it to get lower? That’s my next project
I put a front roller on it and it dropped it nicely.

@@brianw9938 For this build I used a 18" Fiskars StaySharp Reel. They are fairly common on Facebook Marketplace around me.

Sorry, I misread your question. Let me look for the roller.

motor what rpm minute?
Per the Amazon listing, 2750RPM. That is at the motor and the gears you use will affect the Reel RPM
