Shafted - LEGO GBC Module

Shafted is my entry to the 2021 Spring into GBC build challenge.

Square steps pass the ball through to the next module.
The build challenge requires the use of two seed parts - the crankshaft (part 2853) and the trapezoid (flag 44676). This module was inspired by the crankshaft part, which is used to connect the steps at an offset. The flags are used in the input bin and the output ramp.

In the back, there's an axle with universal joints on both ends, leading up to the big red gear. That axle has a big mass of black Technic parts on it, but I can't figure out what they are, what they're doing, or why they're there.

The distance between the two points was not a whole number axle length, so I used the Akiyuki-style flex length axle to connect them. This is the axle used by Akiyuki internally in his Basket Shooter module.
This version is the original implementation of my newer “Squared” module, but in that implementation, a 5.5 axle works just fine.
