On the fringes of a Portuguese city, an ostentatious castle, now deserted, stands as a testament to one man's dream. As a child, Antonio, its creator, had been introduced to the grandeur of Europe's palaces by his globe-trotting parents. A deep-rooted fascination sprouted from these experiences, igniting his dream of constructing his very own castle one day.
Pursuing education and a lucrative career, Antonio amassed the means to realize his dream. Each moment stolen from the rigors of daily life was devoted to this personal monument. His equally devoted wife joined him, their joint labor transforming them into local legends. Curious townsfolk flocked to witness their work, drawn by the vibrant mosaic of colors that adorned every room, every nook of the castle.
Yet, the castle remained perpetually under construction. Even in their twilight years, Antonio and his wife tweaked and tinkered, their vision ever-evolving. Their passing left the castle unsold, its extraordinary brilliance too daunting for ordinary admirers. The once-vibrant dream now stands silent, a monument to a singular, vibrant vision.

Eu cred ca chiar daca o sa mergeti la munca, la serviciul pe care vi l-ati ales, nu va veti putea lasa de o asa pasiune. Si nici noi, nu vom inceta a va urmari pt ca si in noi vibreaza aceeasi pasiune. Sunt extrem de bucuroasa(si nu numai eu) cand va vad impreuna! Formati o echipa veritabila.

Castelul, o constructie deosebita cu multi bani investiti, va ajunge in curand o ruina. Ma gandesc oare de ce inainte de abandon, nu l-a oferit la 2, 3 familii, sa aiba cine sa-i pomeneasca!

En una de las habitaciones hay una fotografía de Lius segundo de Baviera,conocido como el rey loco o el rey cisne ,rey excéntrico y amante del arte,mecenas de grandes artistas de su época ,entre ellos el compositor Alemán Richard Wagner,se gastó parte de su fortuna construyendo excéntricas mansiones y castillos hasta que su familia lo declaró loco y lo mandó ahogar en un lago,para quedarse con el trono ,vivió toda su infancia en un castillos con el nombre de Hohenschwangau,donde comenzó su vena artística,hoy todo ese legado artístico que dejó son las más importantes atracciones turísticas de Baviera,quizá esa letra H que aparece de forma repetitiva tiene relación con esto?,alguno de sus descendientes rindieron culto a su persona en un exilio en Portugal ? O solo un admirador de su figura ,excéntrico ,como el ,que quiso rendirle homenaje….,muchas interrogantes ,tremendo vídeo muy fascinante 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Beautiful, mysterious mansion. It reminds me of the haunted mansion in the Disney movie. Full of colorful details and so many long hall ways and beautiful doors. It ys obvious the couple put thier imagination and life time into each Room. Great details, it needs to be restored and Lived in again...I bet it was so beautiful when the couple were Alive....❤

Замок несомненно заслуживает внимания.Есть в нём много дорогой мебели.Но в нём всего много и нет концепции, нет гармонии!В некоторых местах он смотрится,как нагромождение вещей из разных стилей!Мне было бы там не уютно находится,а тем более жить!В ваших путешествиях встречалось много более милых и приятных для жизни домов!Такое у меня мнение сложилось!
I remember seeing this with Leslie and Danny and they could tell you the meaning of all the letter H that you see everywhere in the house but it has to do with his and his wife's name.Great place glad you got to see it.
Hi Maureno & Ramon. This makes me so sad to see. I saw this probably five years ago and there were still furniture and the library was full of books. A lot of the paintings and pictures were on the walls.

This place got very nice property not far the water, but inside the property over crowded with a lot of stuff and art , look a lot like walk into Disneyland castle, look a lot like this person spend a lot of time and money into the their dream home , sad to see it got left abandoned, thank you for sharing

Looks like Antonio built a lot of the rooms himself. There are many pieces of what looks like parts of a Church. But lol these guys must not go to church at all since they didn’t recognize the confessional booths he made into part of the bedroom!
This place was so much fun to see. I wonder what it would have looked like had he finished everything. Different rooms with the various themes. Soo cool!

Sí debe ser unos de los palacios de Luis II de Baviera; Rey de Baviera desde el 1864. Como se puede ver en el cabezal de la cama escrito la dinastía real de WITTELSBACH, en los muebles se puede ver la corona y la B de Baviera, en la foto del salón con un marco de madera y la corona está su madre que era la Reina consorte María de Prusia.
Efectivamente es algo muy triste pensar que esta casa y estos muebles que son únicos y probablemente diseñados por él se abandonen ya que éstos si que son objetos de museos ya sea en Alemania donde todavía se puede admirar otros castillos y palacios que construyó este Rey que era un apasionado de la arquitectura y el arte como en Portugal donde se encuentra esta maravilla. Esperemos que alguien se haga cargo y no dejen en el olvido este precioso patrimonio. Gracias por este viaje al pasado.

What an a strange yet amazing castle! The owner(s) were so very eccentric! I loved that red room, but all of those different wall colors were too busy for me. Not at all relaxing at the end of hectic day of work.😂Of course I'm sure the owners enjoyed it very much. I am very curious about the significance of those Hs.🤷♀️ Take care of yourselves!!!

In the rooms with the Wittelsbach bed there was a photo of Louis Ii. If I'm not completely mistaken it showd Ludwig II. of Bavaria, who was a quite tragic Person, who took his own life by walking into a lake, for he could not swim. It is Said, that beloved girl-friend went with him. Check this. It is a strange part of history. I will also check it again, because, If my memory does not betray me, I think it happened in the Chiemsee. But I' m not sure.

Hola Maureno y Remon, recién me pongo al día con esta exploración. Muchas gracias por compartir su visita a este castillo tan singular en Portugal.
Pienso que don Antonio y su esposa, construyeron y decoraron su hogar en su estilo muy particular, cada persona hace en su casa lo que mejor le parezca, es verdad eso de que sobre gustos no hay nada escrito. Algunos lo pueden encontrar horrible, pero en lo personal pienso que la construcción quedó inconclusa, se ve en los torreones sin estucos, por ejemplo. En el interior me encantan los colores vibrantes de los muros y los detalles pintados en las puertas como la letra H, los hermosos muebles de madera tallados, como ese grande con algo de vajilla que está ubicado en lo que parece un comedor. En fin hay mucho para ver y destacar, simplemente un lugar único. Saludos cariñosos para ustedes. 🙋♀️👍🤗😘👏👏
