Thanks for the videos. Quick tip for anyone wanting to get through quicker... Change the playback speed to x1.25 or x1.5 so it's not as slow ( 41mins = 27 mins ).
Thanks for your interest -- I should be posting a new video in the series approximately once per week. I'd post them sooner, but each video takes at least 10 hours to make! :D
The attractiveness of this presentation lies is in its simplicity. Techs too often lack the requisite communication skills for conveyance of important information to C-level execs. charged with the responsibility of allocating funds and approving matters related to business operations. This material is a step in that direction.
Thank you for sharing Dr. Daniel Soper. I am a student undertaking Computer Engineering and one of my units in the course is Computer Security. Your videos has been helping me understand in detail about this subject. You making this course much more easier for me. Bravo!!!!
Hey, I will be a freshman in college next fall. I was just wandering on the topic of "Is computer Engineering in the same or close to the same area of Network/Computer Security"?
The foremost hallmark of a good speaker who wishes to attract listeners is to speak slowly. I have gone through several lectures on this topic but I zeroed in on Dr.Soper precisely for this trait apart from the subject knowledge he possesses.
Excellent lecture. Clear, concise presentation in a logical approach. Slides were very good and improved understanding. He should write a text book. Not because he is security genius, but because of the way he shares the knowledge.
Wonderful presentation. I did not know it was much easier to learn from great people like you. Thanks a ton for making me understand this complicated subject look interesting with umpteen examples you have shared to the topics discussed :)
Thank you Dr. Daniel, its an awesome, professionally crafted presentation. Such a Complex topic being explained in 41 minutes with ease of understanding.
Pajamas & Dr. Soper, your credentials are approved; I really am enjoying your lectures; I am learning a great deal; I will be ready in the fall; Mona Lisa Smiles.
Robert Scoble, the Founder of the Scobleizer.blog, talks about reimagining future with spatial computing on Engati CX. While sitting on the wheel of the latest Tesla car he explains us how spatial computing is the 4th paradigm of personal computing and how it can revolutionise the way we see things.
Re: Robert Hocker Please reference the title of this series. It is an Introduction, not intended as an advanced dissertation. As for a ROM based OS, in practice it would be more vulnerable if deployed on a widespread basis like kernel based operating systems. Modern malware often resides in RAM only and does not write anything to local permanent storage. This makes many AV products ineffective because they tend to monitor only disk activity. A read only OS would not be able to be easily updated to protect from malware, or to add new functionality.
I think it speaks volumes when you look at the comments section. Out of the 21 comments I read, only 3 had proper grammar. Coming from a guy who failed 9th grade English, this realization is scary. Even the good 'ol doctor himself failed grammar. Should these people be taking such a course as this when they cannot take the time to type properly? The people in the comment section say things like the one from "Phat Daddy" who did not even have any nouns. This is not to nit-pick. It is just an observation I made. I have been up for 48 hours and just finished a 2hr MIT lecture (one of 23, BTW), and yet I am mentally and physically disciplined enough to talk like an educated person (with an 8th grade English education, I remind you).
i want to let you know that someone is appreciating the video and the effort i am still looking for a book that starts with a nice high level, abstract view of the problem. e.g. HDD- Softare - OS - Antivirus - Network Drivers - LAN network - ISP - Web; and analysis on the risks in between.
Thank you for your posting, very clear and understanding tutorial. I am currently enrolled for a Certificate for Network Security, do you have any suggestions for a complete beginner? I will be majoring in Cyber Security by next year, I thought I'd start now, perhaps to have a hands on experience with the certificate, idk I'm hoping so.
Also, the old method of caller ID, *69, offers a means of reporting a caller to the police automatically after you hear the number read back to you by a roboresponse.
Thank you for your presentation. I want to continue my career in cyber and cyber related training .So what is your recommendation? Thank you again you are doing great job.
Hi. Are there any opportunities for full time at home work in cyber security? I have a computer engineering degree and 15 years of IT experience. Thank you.
have been looking over this everywhere, when r u going to upload the rest of them? I'm taking security class currently, I need some references from other professors in order to do better in class.

Awesome idea. 1.5 is a bit fast for me but 1.25 is perfect!
Thanks. I had forgotten about this.
There's also chrome extensions that add more fine tuned speed playback for people, and for almost any video out there not just youtube.
yeah he is talking a bit too slow
but all his ideas were very well communicated to people who are or are not proficient in English.

Hey, I will be a freshman in college next fall. I was just wandering on the topic of "Is computer Engineering in the same or close to the same area of Network/Computer Security"?
The phone lines should be V.98 for information security. V. 93 for businesses.
Easily digested and assimulated
This is Great.
what do you mean when you when you say integrity is context dependent.....any example for this statement....
Very good. A bit computer centric. Information comes in many forms, data is one small part.
This was added quite a while ago, is the information still accurate and relevant before I start wading in to this? Thanks
KaiKer at this level, this information is still relevant... For the later/higher lvl videos I don't know
Thank for your sharing
Hi,
How can i get the other videos? thank you.
Watching this video as I am taking Computer Forensics course and I need to know some of this stuff 😅
Good ✌🏼
thanks for the video
please explain the computer threats
I have interest in cyber security. My background in electrical Engineering. Where I can start to become cyber security expert?
Please help me, what factors that asset value depends on
