Please forgive my little faux pas at about the six or seven minute mark. As I said, later on in the video, “sometimes the beauty is in the imperfection.” 😉
Great review. I was at the Town Hall show and it was indeed bittersweet. I've seen Renaissance dozens of times starting in 1974 with Al Stewart at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester. Forever Changing was the highlight for me and hearing Ashes Are Burning brought me back to midnight shows at the Academy of Music on 14th street.
@@jeffreyfriedkin4231 ~ Thanks for watching and commenting, Jeffrey. It was a show I couldn’t miss, I took a rare day off from work to attend. Sadly, it’s the end of an era… but we have an amazing catalog of songs to remember Renaissance. Both in the studio and live, too. Slainte Mhath! 🥂
The unplanned stops in the show made it a special personal show. The band and the audience connects as one. Glad to hear the concert was incredible and ended with a song from Turn of the Cards my favorite album. from them.
@@GrabAStackofRocK ~ Start with the perhaps more accessible fare such as “Northern Lights,” “Carpet of the Sun,” “l Think of You” and the outstanding “Ocean Gypsy” before diving deeper into their longer songs. Thanks for commenting and watching. Cheers! 🍻
@@allornadaaccordingtojack7601 ~ Exactly. However, I really DO think it’s her last hurrah when it comes to (long) touring. She’s more into her painting and artwork now. The band hasn’t made a new album for a decade and she is 77 (!) years old. She hasn’t ruled out the odd live appearance but my best guess is that it would under the Annie Haslam banner and not under the name Renaissance. Thanks for watching and commenting, cheers! 🍻
The great Pete Pardo? Is that like the great kazoo!? Anyhow great review thorough! 😅 Not at all familiar with the band but on your recommendation will give em a listen! Cheers rock on Prog on!!! One half of the Buffalo Boys Joey😅

Saw them two consecutive nights in NYC--I think it was 1983. Glad you enjoyed the show and always remember: we don't need to know the answers to hope and pray for peace.

@@daveycretin664 Unfortunately, I do not remember who the replacement players were at the time. There was the potential for a good new album in the mid-80's: I have a compilation called Songs From Renaissance Days, which is worth getting if you don't have it.
