Gouging Fire seems to be trying to be a defensive mon, with its defense stat being its highest and signature move, Burning Bulwark being a Protect that burns on contact. However, its a fire type that has an ability that benefits from sun, of course its gonna hurt!

Fun fact: Dino Entei is the heaviest paradox pokemon overall. (590 kg! Even Emboar's 150kg lol) So heat crash's gonna deal 100+ most of the time, having stab, harsh sunlight, protosynthesis and an extra dragon dance is a literal overkill.
Highly recommend Morning sun for him aswell he learns it at 42. With harsh sunlight its 2/3 total hp!

I really hope Gouging Fire starts to make more splashes in the overall metagame because it's probably my third favorite pokemon added in the DLC and I don't want it to be relegated to semi-gimmick howl teams :(
I don't think it's gonna become meta-relevant. There is Incineroar, the most popular fakeout option, being immune to burn and Urshifu ignoring Burning Bulwark entirely

I've been theorycrafting a team called Double Enteindre using both Entei and its paradox form with Chien-Pao/Rillaboom/Waterpon and either Flutter Mane or Kingambit in the final slot; could a kind soul help me decide which to add?
I'd probably go Flutter, since all your other team members are Physical attackers, so a Special Attacker gives you more diversity.

I think gouging fire 🔥 is honestly a top 3 best pokemon in regulation F, it is too adaptable for how bulky it is/how much dmg it does.
If you use Breaking Swipe and ONE of the opponent's pokemon is Fairy type, will Stomping Tantrum/Temper Flare be doubled on the next turn? Swag synergy if it is
