Thanks for this video! 6:15 is very relatable to me. My ski instructor didn't teach me how to bail out properly when I can't control my speed. I keep bailing out backwards. They didn't guide me even though I told them I was afraid of breaking my legs a few times. I was also on the blue slope because I followed my friend and the ski instructor. I lost confidence and was very terrified, but I won't give up. I will follow your guide and move one foot close to my ski so I can fall sideways. I wish you were my ski instructor hahah :)

It doesn't sound like the best start on your skiing journey, @kukatkukkivat. Getting success and building confidence is so important the first few days on skis. Thats why we have made so many beginner videos. I hope you enjoy our guides and I am sure you will find lots of success if you keep at it, but make sure you progress slowly. Only move to something more difficult, when you have build lots of confidence and the ability to turn and stop in more flat terrain. Also remember that the Snow Plough does not work well as soon as you enter steeper terrain, like many blue runs. In our Learn to Turn - With Parallel skis, you will find more tips on managing your speed when progressing from the Snow Plough. I hope this helps. /Janus

Thank you! What is the best beginner video here on how not to be in a snow plow all the time? Lol. Im trying to stay more parallel🥲

Happy to help, @vikBF. I have a video called Two keys to parallel skiing that many people have found helpful. I would also say our video How to do the Hockey Stop on skis (WITH BONUS TIP) is worth checking out, when you are working on you parallel skiing skills. There has been a lot of interest in learning parallel skiing so we have actually just returned from a trip to Norway, where we spent the week recording material for a more in depth and structured course on how to get from snow plough skiing to parallel skiing. If everything goes according to plan, we will launch that course for the 24/25 Northern ski season, so stay tuned for that one. I hope this helps. /Janus

Lil too late for me. I just got nostrils stitches 2 days ago due to not be able to bail out. Skiing down from top of the mountain stright non stop ( because of panic) Ending up in bare side land at the bottom of the slope 😢😢😢 but thats ok. I learned from your video. And next season. I will be able to bail out correct way. Thanks

That sound like a really bad experience @Anya_so_sweet. I hope you will come back on skis next season, and get a better experience. Check out the videos in the description of this video, I am sure they will be helpful. I wish you a speedy recovery and a great day today! /Janus

    Raining everywhere this winter

Yeah, it was raining heavy during part of recording this video. It was recorded last spring (2023) in mid April in Hemsedal/Norway, and rain is not too unlikely at that time of year in Scandinavian ski resorts. However, the days before we had lots of snow coming down. The speak was recorded is in the valley and it was still snowing on the top of the mountain that day. I do think the rain gives an interesting feel to the video, as a variation to some of our videos with winter wonderland (which of course is completely amazing). I hope you will have a great ski season with lots of snow this year. /Janus
