- It’s been an unsettling time, but we’re putting plans in place, so our new students can look forward to a positive and exciting university experience.
We’re getting ready to welcome our students, keep you safe, provide a quality education and adapt to the latest Government advice.
Government guidance and UEA policy continues to evolve, this video was correct at time of filming in June 2020. Please familiarise yourself with our FAQ pages. www.uea.ac.uk/...
With effect from Monday 7th September 2020, the University requires face coverings to be worn by staff, students and visitors while moving around in University buildings and in all teaching spaces and any crowded external spaces.
Academic staff are encouraged to wear the provided face visor instead of a face covering during any in-person teaching sessions, to facilitate lip reading and oral clarity for students. The following exemptions apply:
Staff or students who cannot wear face coverings for medical reasons. There is no requirement to provide evidence of exemption.
Laboratories where there is risk of chemical or biological contamination of face coverings (alternative arrangements will be in place)
Face coverings can be removed for eating and drinking
Face coverings can be removed once at your work station, study spaces and other (non-teaching) areas that are arranged to provide 2m social distancing
Face coverings are not required in buildings where there is a legislative exemption
